Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) is trying to make a name for herself by playing to the fringes of her party.

Not only did she repeat the lie that border patrol agents whipped illegal aliens crossing into the country, but she also claimed that black Americans should be exempted from paying taxes as a form of “reparations.”
“Just this past week I saw, I don’t remember which celebrity, but it was actually a celebrity, and I was like, that’s not necessarily a bad idea, but I’d have to think through it a lot,” Crockett said. “One of the things that they propose is black folk not have to pay taxes for a certain amount of time. Because then again, that puts money back in your pocket.”
“So many black folk — not only do you owe for the labor that was stolen and killed and all the other things — but the fact is, like, we end up being so far behind,” she added.
However, she acknowledged that the proposal would have little effect “for people that are already, say, struggling and not paying taxes in the first place.”
Crockett also suggested that the federal government needs to coordinate with individual states on reparations because people might relocate to get a bigger check.
“Everybody’s gonna run to whichever state and be like, ‘Yo, I need mine,” she said. “And so we don’t want to see that — this is definitely something that needs to be thought through.”
Crockett also chastised “people that aren’t even willing to do the [reparations] studies, aren’t willing to invest to make sure we can roll this out the right way.”

Democrats’ bad ideas won’t die
Reparations talk has been bandied about for decades but only gained ascendancy in recent years because of the attention given to woke extremist Author Ta-Nehisi Coates by Democrats and their media allies.
Since then, woke extremists have bilked taxpayers to pay for exploratory committees on the issue in Democrat-controlled states like California.
Set aside the immorality of forcing people who never owned slaves to pay people who were never enslaved, reparations would be an economic disaster.
Inflation would be even worse if activists got the outrageous sums of money for which they advocate.
But Democrats seem determined to ride the reparations train as far as they can.
