John Kennedy laid a trap for one of Joe Biden’s extremist judicial nominees.

She put her ignorance on full display for the world to see.

And John Kennedy wrecked a Biden judicial nominee after he asked this simple question.

The clock is ticking on President Joe Biden’s first term in office, and he’s trying to confirm as many Judges as possible.

He nominated District Court Judge Nancy Maldonado to fill a vacancy on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit.

Kennedy totally stumps Biden judicial nominee

Senator John Kennedy (R-LA) asked Maldonado to define the dubious term “assault weapons” at her confirmation hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee.

She was a part of a legal team that filed a brief in 2012 for the gun control group Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence in an Illinois state court supporting Chicago’s “assault weapons” ban.

“You said, ‘assault weapons may be banned because they’re extraordinarily dangerous and are not appropriate for legitimate self-defense purposes,’” Kennedy said. “Tell me what you meant by assault weapons.”

“Just to clarify there, I was local counsel,” Maldonado said before claiming she didn’t actually write the brief and only signed it.

“Tell me what you meant by assault weapons,” Kennedy said.

“I am not a gun expert,” Maldonado replied.

“So you submitted a brief, an appellate brief, you signed it, and you don’t know and . . . you said abolish assault weapons, and you don’t know what you wanted them to abolish?” a credulous Kennedy asked.

“I was not responsible for researching the content,” Maldonado said.

Another Biden judicial nominee can’t answer simple questions

Kennedy wasn’t impressed with Maldonado as an attorney in private practice.

And he began to slam her work as a District Court Judge.

“You have 125 motions pending that you declined to decide,” Kennedy said.

He noted that she had the seventh-highest number of pending motions of any district court Judge in the nation.

“You really think of all the other district Judges in the Seventh Circuit, you’re the one that will be promoted?” Kennedy asked.

Maldonado said that she had to deal with nearly 300 cases when she was appointed to the district court in 2022 and that it took a while to get that number down.

Kennedy called her record as a Judge “abysmal,” adding that she was “probably the least productive member” of her district court.

Joe Biden is trying to put another political activist masquerading as a Judge on the bench.
