Hollywood is seemingly on a mission to destroy this legendary director for one mind-blowing reason

Nobody is safe from the wrath of the woke left-wing outrage mob.

Even Hollywood celebrities are not immune.

And now Hollywood is seemingly on a mission to destroy this legendary director for one mind-blowing reason.

Hollywood Director Francis Ford Coppola will never top The Godfather or Apocalypse Now, but he is attempting to do so with Megalopolis, a passion project over 40 years in the making.

Coppola spent $120 million of his own money on the science-fiction epic about an architect who wants to rebuild New York City after a cataclysmic event.

Coppola under fire

And the Hollywood media is already out to torpedo the film.

First, Coppola cast Shia LaBeouf, Jon Voight, and Dustin Hoffman, who have all run afoul of the woke religious cult for one reason or another.

The Hollywood Reporter framed the film as a disaster from the get-go.

“Francis Ford Coppola’s latest movie, the sci-fi-tinged Megalopolis, has descended into chaos, according to multiple sources,” The Hollywood Reporter claimed. “The movie, currently halfway through shooting in Atlanta, has in the last week lost key creative talent including its production designer and supervising art director. That’s on top of losing the entire visual effects team in the first part of December. To many insiders, the production is giving severe Apocalypse Now vibes, and it’s one on which the iconoclastic 83-year-old director is breaking a cardinal Hollywood rule: Never spend your own money.”

Despite the production challenges of Apocalypse Now, it turned out to be a classic film.

Fighting the narrative

However, Coppola pushed back against the narrative that the film was a train wreck.

“I’ve never worked on a film where I was so happy with the cast,” Coppola told Deadline. “I am so happy with the look and that we are so on schedule. These reports never say who these sources are. To them, I say, ha, ha, just wait and see. Because this is a beautiful film and primarily so because the cast is so great.”

Furthermore, one of the film’s stars, two-time Oscar nominee Adam Driver, also responded to the report, calling it “one of the best shooting experiences I’ve had.”

“I’d like to briefly respond to The Hollywood Reporter article published Monday, January 9th,” Driver said. “All good here! Not sure what set you’re talking about! I don’t recognize that one! I’ve been on sets that were chaotic and this one is far from it. The environment that’s being created by Francis, is one of focus and inspiration. As of now, we’re on schedule, making our days, and honestly, it’s been one of the best shooting experiences I’ve had.”

The film reportedly finished on time and on budget – a minor miracle in Hollywood today.

After being exposed for pushing their propaganda narrative, the media quickly shifted their narrative around Megalopolis to it being “experimental” and “not good,” hurting its chances of getting a distribution deal.

However, “experimental” films have never stopped Hollywood before.

Ultimately, studios like having control, and Coppola denied them that opportunity by self-financing.

Now, as a result, the industry is seemingly trying to punish him.

Studios don’t want directors getting the idea that they can self-finance projects of that scale.

Small indies are one thing, but $120 million movies are something entirely different.
