Taylor Swift gets constant media attention as one of the biggest celebrities on the planet.

She became a fixture in NFL coverage after she began dating Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce last year.

And this Kansas City Chiefs coach made a stunning confession about Taylor Swift that has all hell breaking loose.

Taylor Swift became a part of the NFL’s storyline last year

Pop megastar Taylor Swift became one of the unlikely subplots to the 2023 NFL season when she began dating Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

She first popped onto the scene last September as the Chiefs faced off against the Chicago Bears at Arrowhead Stadium.

While she was on break from her record-setting Eras Tour, she would show up at Chiefs games to support Kelce.

Cameras would frequently cut to her while she was taking in the game from a luxury box.

Swift’s potential attendance at upcoming games became fodder for media speculation.

Media coverage of her mere presence at Chiefs games became so pervasive that it was used as a joke at the 2024 Golden Globe Awards in January.

“As you know, we came on after a football doubleheader,” comedian Jo Koy said in his opening monologue at the Golden Globes. “The big difference between the Golden Globes and the NFL. On the Golden Globes, we have fewer camera shots of Taylor Swift, I swear.”

Chiefs coach makes surprising statement about the Taylor Swift circus

The Chiefs were in pursuit of their second straight Super Bowl win last year – which they achieved in February – and the team had to deal with the media circus that accompanied one of its players dating Swift.

Many fans wondered if she was a distraction to one of the NFL’s top teams, but one Chiefs coach has a different perspective.

Chiefs Offensive Coordinator Matt Nagy told local CBS affiliate KCTV5 that the team loved having Swift as part of their football family.

“It’s definitely rare for sure, I mean you’re talking about Taylor Swift and Kelce and Patrick [Mahomes],” Nagy said. “I know Patrick and Kelce as the people they are away from the different concerts and golf venues etc. I know them on a day-to-day basis.”

“Taylor, I’ve never met,” Nagy continued. “We love having her a part of the family, the team, what she and Kelce have done is a cool story.”

Nagy said that both Swift and Kelce were humble despite their talents.

“I think it’s a credit to both of them to be two big powerful people that are also so humble in what they do and they’re so talented at what they do, whether it’s football or singing,” he continued. “We’re enjoying the journey, we’re proud to be a part of it and we want to keep it going.”

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said before this year’s Super Bowl that the couple deserve credit for how they’ve handled their relationship.

“Listen, it’s a tribute to how she’s handled it, how Kelce has handled it. It hasn’t been a distraction, so there haven’t been any problems with it,” Reid said. “She’s a good girl. She loves the game, and obviously loves Kelce. So I’m happy for both of them.”

Despite the unprecedented media circus around Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s romance, it didn’t become a distraction for the Chiefs.
