It’s no secret that the cost of everything has gone through the roof under Joe Biden.

Americans are now being forced to make shocking tradeoffs just to survive week-to-week.

And one shocking trend at the grocery store revealed this scary reality under Joe Biden.

President Joe Biden unleashed the worst inflation in four decades with his failed “Bidenomics” agenda and a continuation of the ruling class elites’ decades of reckless spending.

Nowhere is this more evident than on every trip to the grocery store.

The price of food at the grocery store has surged by 21% since Biden took office.

And that’s forcing Americans to make sacrifices.

Spam sales soaring under Biden

Cash-strapped Americans are turning to canned meats, like Spam and Vienna Sausages, to get by.

Bronx grocery store owner Miguel Garcia told The New York Post that Spam, Libby’s Corned Beef, and Chef Boyardee Spaghetti & Meatballs have become hot items at his stores.

“Spam is a regular item again,” Garcia said. “I’m selling them at a discount now because I’m buying more.”

Garcia said his customers are buying more low-cost items.

“Our average sale was closer to $20 at the end of last year, and now it’s about $15,” Garcia said. “People are putting less expensive items in their carts.”

Major food companies are developing new lower-cost items for customers struggling to afford the high prices at the grocery store.

Conagra Brands – the producer of Slim Jim, Chef Boyardee, and Swanson – is introducing a new line of Banquet chicken patties in May that will sell at six for $6.99 to appeal to Americans who can no longer afford fast food.

Chicken sandwiches are best sellers at fast food chains.

Canned meat has become one of the hottest products for Conagra.

“We have a large canned-meat portfolio,” Conagra senior vice president of demand science Bob Nolan said. “It’s on fire.”

City Harvest official Carlos Rodriguez said that struggling shoppers are resorting to picking “whatever is on the shelf that you can stretch longer and further to feed the many mouths that might be sitting around the table.”

While some Americans are cutting back at the grocery store, others are skipping meals altogether to pay their bills.

Housing costs forcing Americans to skip meals and medical care

Real estate firm Redfin found that 20% of the people they polled were skipping meals to be able to make their rent or mortgage payments.

“Housing has become so financially burdensome in America that some families can no longer afford other essentials, including food and medical care, and have been forced to make major sacrifices, work overtime and ask others for money so they can cover their monthly costs,” Redin Economic Research Lead Chen Zhao said.

Americans are being forced to sacrifice to be able to make ends meet because of the cost-of-living crisis that Joe Biden and his fellow ruling-class elites created.
