Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s relationship has been like Christmas for the clickbait media.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end himself has especially enjoyed feeding into the media circus.

And Travis Kelce couldn’t stop laughing at Taylor Swift for one reason no one saw coming.

Travis Kelce can’t stop laughing at Taylor Swift

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce discussed an embarrassing incident from his girlfriend Taylor Swift’s past during a recent episode of the New Heights podcast he co-hosts with his brother, future NFL Hall of Fame center Jason Kelce.

The episode’s guest, comedian Andrew Santino, recalled how he was part of the cast who pranked Swift on MTV’s infamous hidden camera reality show Punk’d back in the day.

Santino worked as an actor for 12 episodes of Punk’d in the early stages of his career in 2012 and also served as a segment producer on five episodes as well.

“You gotta see the clip, but we did. Justin Bieber was hosting that episode. It was a celebrity punking a celebrity. And we did this many, many years ago,” Santino recalled. “I guess, Bieber had come back from Japan, and he told Taylor to come to his house to set off fireworks off the back of this house that we rented in Malibu.”

In the episode, Bieber convinces Swift to set off the fireworks, and things went off the rails after that.

Speculating that she might be reluctant to set off fireworks, Santino explained they created a button for her to push to set them off.

“I said, if she doesn’t wanna do it, we have to make it so it’s like a button or a thing where it’s, like, an accidental easy did you press this or whatever?” Santino explained.  “And they set up a rig, a fake rig with buttons on it, and she did, like, touch one, like, slightly just goofing around. And it set off a fire, and we had it on a rope line to throw it in the direction of this boat.”

Taylor Swift thinks she ruined a wedding by catching a boat on fire

Once the fireworks went off, the show made it appear like it resulted in a boat catching on fire that was holding a wedding.

Santino, who played the role of the groom in the prank, swims ashore from the burning boat to confront a mortified Swift.

“We blamed her for ruining our wedding,” Santino said.

The pastor and the bride joined him on shore to blame Swift for ruining the big day.

And the actress who played the bride wondered if this was a sign to call off the wedding.

“(She) was like, ‘Maybe it’s a sign. Maybe this is a sign I shouldn’t marry him,’” Santino said. “And Taylor was like, ‘No, I don’t think that’s right. I don’t know if that’s right.’”

The Kelce brothers were dying laughing at the story.

“I gotta ask Tay about that one,” Travis Kelce said.

“It was a perfect bit that worked,” Santino said.
