Alvin Bragg is twisting the law to try and get a conviction against Donald Trump.

His witch hunt is going to help the former President in an unexpected way.

And Alvin Bragg made one wrong move that is going to blow up in his face.

Alvin Bragg is making Donald Trump’s case for him

Former President Donald Trump has two major legal cases that are being heard concurrently.

Manhattan Democrat District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s sham witch hunt for allegedly falsifying business records is underway.

That kept Trump from appearing at oral arguments before the Supreme Court over his claim that Presidential immunity gave him “absolute immunity” from criminal prosecution in the January 6 case brought by Special Counsel Jack Smith.

George Washington University Law School Professor Jonathan Turley made the case that Bragg is Trump’s “best lawyer” during an appearance on Fox & Friends.

He explained that Bragg’s case would help his legal argument for Presidential immunity with the Supreme Court.

“The interesting thing about today’s Supreme Court decision is, and the Manhattan case is, that Alvin Bragg is probably the best lawyer Donald Trump has right now,” Turley said, which caused co-host, Charlie Hurt, to burst into laughter.

Presidential immunity exists to protect Presidents from overzealous prosecution from the opposing political party.

And Bragg’s legally tenuous case proves this point, according to Turley.

“He’s making the case to the Supreme Court that there needs to be immunity protection because he’s the problem,” Turley explained. “This is exactly what the court was worried about. You’ve got these Democratic district attorneys clearly politicizing the criminal justice system. The Manhattan case is legally absurd, and it’s occurring on the very day that the court is considering how to protect Presidents. That case cannot but help former President Trump.”

Presidential immunity prevents former Presidents from facing politically-motivated prosecutions after they leave office.

If sitting Presidents had to worry about their official actions getting them charged when they left office, it would constrain their official actions.

For example, thanks to Presidential immunity, former President Barack Obama isn’t sitting in prison for unilaterally ordering drone strikes that “accidentally” murdered three American citizens.

But Democrats decided to blow up the idea of Presidential immunity in their quest to get Trump – a move that could obviously come back to bite them.

“And you’re even able to say that as a Democrat, right? You still consider yourself a Democrat,” co-host Ainsley Earhardt asked.

“Right. Right. And the funny thing is in the contempt proceedings, one of the things that, uh, the former President is being accused of is citing one of my columns,” Turley continued. “It’s uh, I’m used to expressing contempt in the business.”

Jack Smith rushing to start the January 6 trial

Smith has been pushing for the January 6 trial to start as soon as possible so that he can secure a conviction against Trump before the 2024 election.

Democrats are furious that the Supreme Court isn’t working on Smith’s timetable to get Trump on trial.

Former Federal Prosecutor Andy McCarthy said during the same segment that pressure from Democrats to speed up their ruling wouldn’t sit well with the Justices.

“The fact that there seems like there’s a crisis and there’s criticism of the court that they didn’t get to this fast enough is not over a legal imperative, it’s over a political imperative where you have Democratic prosecutors, one in New York is an elected Democratic prosecutor, who decided that they wanted to get Trump on trial and by their life, hopefully convicted in the run-up to the election,” McCarthy said. “To my mind, if I’m the court, I’m actually put off by that. I don’t feel like a pressure to accelerate my consideration of the case, I resent the fact that I have been thrown gratuitously into a political context.”

Democrats shredding the Constitution and the rule of the law to get Donald Trump could backfire on them.
