Democrats are falling all over themselves to take down Donald Trump.

Despite all their talk about “protecting democracy,” they don’t want voters to have any choice but to re-elect Joe Biden.

And the one word this constitutional scholar used to describe Democrats’ latest witch hunt against Donald Trump has all hell breaking loose.

George Washington University Law School Professor Jonathan Turley defended former President Donald Trump during his impeachment because of the government’s outrageous charges against him.

As a legal scholar, Turley has been critical of Democrats’ shameless, lawfare witch hunts against Trump.

Turley recently called Manhattan Democrat District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s hush money case against Trump “absurd.”

Desperate for a charge

During a recent interview, Fox News’ Dana Perino asked Turley to explain a recent piece he wrote in which he noted that ancient Roman Philosopher Cicero once wrote, “the more laws, the less justice,” and paralleled the quote with what’s going on in the witch hunts against Trump.

“Well, the more cases against Trump, the less justice we receive as a people,” Turley explained. “You know, the opponents of Trump would have been far better off with just one case, the Mar-a-Lago case. That’s based on real law, real precedent, and one can disagree with the interpretations. But it’s not a reach in the sense of this case.”

Of course, the Mar-a-Lago case was weakened by the fact that Biden was found to be in possession of classified documents of his own from both his time as President and his decades as a Senator.

That is why Democrats have downplayed that case thus far.

“This case is, creating something, it’s creating a criminal code just for Trump,” Turley continued. “You know, you have a misdemeanor whose time has expired, the statute limitations ran out, and it was revived in this rather curious way. He’s effectively arguing that Trump was filing false business records through his counsel to hide a federal crime. But it isn’t a federal crime, this wasn’t a campaign contribution. None of that appears to matter, and that’s why a lot of us are looking at this and recoiling. This is not how the law is supposed to be. . .New Yorkers appear to like it this way. They elected James, who ran on bagging Trump for anything, didn’t even mention what. And they now are lionizing this district attorney who’s putting together what many of us consider to be an absurd indictment.”

No fair trial in NYC

The Democrat District Attorney’s sham witch hunt against Trump would fall apart if it weren’t playing out in a Democrat-controlled city like New York City.

Bragg knows that with the overwhelming majority of the city being Democrat voters, he’ll be able to assemble an all-Democrat jury that will go along with his case while Democrats’ media allies provide cover.

In order to supposedly “save democracy,” Democrats are going out of their way to destroy democracy just to take down Donald Trump.
