California is the blueprint for the socialist nightmare Democrats want to unleash on the nation.

Now the Golden State is threatening to wreak havoc on the entire country.

And this trucker’s warning about Gavin Newsom’s latest environmental extremist disaster should be a wake-up call for the entire country.

President Joe Biden and his fellow Democrats are working to completely outlaw gasoline-powered vehicles.

His environmental extremist agenda is just the beginning of Democrats’ plan to fundamentally transform the United States – mainly the economy – in the name of fighting climate change.

Democrat-controlled California received the Biden regime’s blessing for an ambitious plan to electrify the trucking sector.

Biden signs off California’s latest green energy scheme

The Biden Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued a waiver to California to institute its own electric vehicle standards and tailpipe emission regulations that go far beyond those forced onto working-class Americans by the federal government.

California is the national leader in the green energy movement, and as the largest state in the country, its actions extend far beyond its borders.

California Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom announced that the state would somehow cut oil usage by 94% and greenhouse gas emissions by 85% by 2045.

To achieve this goal, the unelected bureaucrats who run the California Air Resources Board issued a regulation to phase out the use of diesel-powered semi-trucks and switch them to electric.

This change will disrupt the entire country because the state’s ports are the main gateway for goods shipped from Asia.

Ohio trucker warns that California’s emissions standards will be a catastrophe

Monte Wiederhold, who runs a small Ohio trucking company, told FOX & Friends First that California’s electric trucking plan would be a disaster for the entire country.

“There is nothing about this law that makes any sense,” Wiederhold said. “So, if this mandate comes in, if they go forward with this nonsense, we’re going to be the supply chain crisis on steroids.”

All out-of-state trucks would be forced to undertake the significant cost of switching its fleet to electric in order to comply with California’s law and be allowed to pick up freight in the state.

Wiederhold pointed out that 96% of trucking companies are “small fleets like mom-and-pop, one- and two-truck operators.”

“I have a four-truck fleet myself,” Wiederhold explained. “Obviously, this thing is going to cost untold millions, billions of dollars that we have no way that we’re going to pay for.”

Small trucking companies will be bankrupted by the immense cost of not only switching their fleets to more expensive electric trucks – which, in most cases, also do not yet have the capability of hauling as large of loads for as long of distances as their diesel-powered counterparts – but also of building all new infrastructure, like costly charging stations, required to keep electric trucks operational.

Wiederhold pointed out that with EV technology still in its infancy, it’s simply not yet been developed enough to make the mass adoption of electric transportation a realistic goal any time soon.

“I mean, if these folks were watching this past winter when the people in Chicago with their Teslas that they couldn’t get to the chargers, or they were froze up. Multiply that times about 10, because right now we currently have nowhere to park our trucks along the highway just to, you know, rest areas and truck stops, to even sleep,” Wiederhold stated.

He predicted that Americans would see their lives turned upside down if the rule went into effect.

“We’re going to be in some Third World country-type status to where you’re going to go to the store or stand in line, and the shelves are empty because it’s what’s going to happen,” Wiederhold said.

California’s electric trucking plan is poised to create a catastrophe for the country.
