Joe Biden continues to say in public and in private that he is running for a second term in 2024.
Even though he is the most unpopular President in the history of polling, Joe Biden believes he is the only Democrat who can defeat Donald Trump.
That’s why Joe Biden was stunned when Bernie Sanders refused to answer this one question on CNN.
Driven by skyrocketing inflation, an economic recession, the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan, surging crime rates, the border crisis, an energy crisis, food shortages, and a host of other problems, President Joe Biden’s historically low approval rating shows no signs of improvement.
Democrat candidates in key battleground states have even begun distancing themselves from Biden, refusing to be seen with the President in their own state.
With President Biden dragging down Democrats across the board, many members of his own Party are starting to publicly express concerns about him running for re-election in 2024.
A recent CNN poll showed that 75% of Democrat and Democrat-leaning voters believe President Joe Biden should step aside at the end of this term.
Democrat Reps. Angie Craig (D-MN) and Dean Phillips (D-MN) have even outright declared their opposition to Joe Biden running for President again in 2024.
On Tuesday, during an appearance on CNN’s Situation Room, host Wolf Blitzer asked Senator Bernie Sanders (Socialist-VT) about the possibility of a second Biden term.
“Do you want to see President Biden, Senator, run for a second term?” Wolf Blitzer asked Senator Sanders.
However, Bernie Sanders refused to answer the question directly.
“Well, what I want to see right now is that — the Congress of the United States working with President Biden next year, develop an agenda that says to working families and the elderly and the kids, we understand your pain and that we have the guts to take on the big money interests at a time when we have more income and wealth inequality than any other major country on earth,” Sanders replied, carefully avoiding any talk about 2024.
“We need to work right now, next year, with President Biden on an agenda that addresses those issues,” the socialist added.
But Wolf Blitzer wasn’t satisfied with Sanders dodging the question.
“Well, let me rephrase the question,” Blitzer shot back, before asking Sanders, “do you want to see him run for reelection?”
Once again, Sanders dodged the question, instead turning the conversation to November.
“Look, right now, my concern is electing more Democrats in this Midterm election so we can finally address the needs of working families,” Sanders replied. “That’s where my mind is right now.”
It’s almost impossible to find a left-wing Member of Congress who will come right out and declare their support for Joe Biden in 2024.
Like Senator Bernie Sanders, the majority of Democrats refuse to answer the question directly.
“We’ll cross that bridge when we get to it,” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) told CNN when asked about Biden running again.
“You know, I’m not making those choices or decisions on that,” Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) recently told NBC News’ Meet the Press. “I’m going to work with whatever I have.”
Aside from his dismal poll numbers, Democrats realize Joe Biden is too old and too senile to run for President again in 2024.
Of course, President Biden may very well end up running for a second term.
But if he does decide to seek reelection, he’ll certainly face a challenge from within his own Party.
