In 2015, Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) filibustered for nearly 11 hours to try and stop reauthorization of the Patriot Act.

Paul was particularly opposed to the surveillance of Americans’ phone records.

And now all hell broke loose after Rand Paul revealed one awful truth about House Speaker Mike Johnson.

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) recently stabbed conservatives in the back by casting the tie-breaking vote on a bill reauthorizing Section 702 of the Federal Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), which allows the federal government free reign to shred the Constitution by illegally spying on American citizens without a warrant.

Of course, this is the same program former President Barack Obama’s regime used to spy on former President Donald Trump during Democrats’ “Russian collusion” hoax.

Johnson’s betrayal infuriated conservatives and led Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) to file a motion to remove him from the Speakership.

Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) has long been one of the few in Washington, D.C., willing to stand up and fight for Americans’ natural rights, such as privacy, which have been enshrined in the Bill of Rights.

On Sunday, Senator Paul went on Fox News and ripped Speaker Johnson for stabbing conservatives in the back with his FISA vote.

“Speaker Johnson was incredibly wrong,” Paul declared. “He broke the tie, he voted with the Democrats. Here we have the leader of the Republicans in the House who votes with the Democrats against a warrant requirement.”

“We also have Speaker Johnson voting for the spending package once again with a majority of the Democrats,” he added. “As I see it now, I’m not so sure there’s a difference between Mike Johnson being in charge and the Democrats being in charge.”

Paul said Johnson “has power” but does not have the guts to stand his ground against the pressure.

“Johnson hasn’t held his ground,” Paul said. “He has power, he has a majority.”

Paul encouraged Johnson to “use the power of the purse” to force Democrats to the table.

“Speaker Johnson, do something to make us think you are different from the Democrats,” Paul urged. “But so far I don’t see a lot of difference.”

Johnson’s betrayal has House Republicans in disarray.

On Tuesday, Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY), who has long stood shoulder-to-shoulder with Senator Paul to help defend the Constitution and the sovereignty of the American people, told Speaker Johson to his face that he would be co-sponsoring Greene’s motion to vacate the chair.

Even former President Donald Trump is starting to walk back his support for Johnson after he helped lead the charge to install him as Speaker.

“We’ll see what happens,” he told reporters on Tuesday when asked about Greene’s motion to vacate.

Mike Johnson could be the next Speaker who is removed from office for stabbing conservatives in the back.
