The crisis at the southern border is getting worse by the minute.
Now Joe Biden is making matters worse – as if that was possible – by attacking Border Patrol agents and making false accusations about them.
But Texas Governor Greg Abbott is having none of it and is stepping up for Border Patrol agents who could be facing punishment from Joe Biden.
Recently pictures surfaced of mounted Border Patrol agents supposedly “whipping” Haitians as they tried to cross the border.
The story was debunked very quickly, and it was proven that the agents were not, in fact, “whipping” anyone – they were merely riding horses with split reins.
That didn’t stop the Left from launching vicious attacks on the mounted Border Patrol unit.
Democrats have completely ignored the border situation up until this point – in hopes it might disappear – but now they’re trying to paint these agents as monsters.
Agents who have been working countless hours to try and defend the United States border after Biden opened it to whoever wants to walk in.
On Friday, Biden announced that mounted Border Patrol agents “will pay” over the claim that they used whips, ropes, or lassos to abuse Haitian migrants in Del Rio, Texas.
To make matters worse, the promise by Biden came long after it was announced that the agents were not “whipping” or “lassoing” the migrants.
Now Texas Governor Greg Abbott is going toe to toe with Biden and telling him to back off.
On Sunday, Abbott announced he would hire any Border Patrol agent punished by the Biden administration over the controversy from last week.
“What the President said — going after the Border Patrol, who were risking their lives and working so hard to try to secure the border — if he takes any action against them whatsoever, I have worked side by side with those Border Patrol agents. I want them to know something: If they are at risk of losing their job at a president who is abandoning his duty to secure the border, you have a job in the state of Texas,” Abbott stated during an interview with Fox News.
Abbott stated that Biden has “scapegoated” the Border Patrol and that the agents would not have been in that position “had the Biden administration enforced the immigration laws and secured the border.”
Border Patrol agents got word back to Abbott that the flood of Haitians into Del Rio only stopped after he took action.
Abbott said he needed to take action because the Biden administration has abdicated their Constitutional responsibilities.
“The Biden administration cares far more about people who are not in this country than he does of the people – American citizens who live in this country,” Governor Abbott said.
The Border Patrol is furious with Biden and his administration, with one agent stating that Biden “just started a war with Border Patrol.”
Joe Biden has quickly turned from an old man with a deteriorating mental capacity to a dictator at war with his own people.
