A poll from the Public Policy Institute of California found that Biden’s approval rating in California is underwater.
They found 46% of likely California voters approve of him, while 51% disapprove.
Over two-thirds of voters polled said inflation has “caused serious financial hardship for themselves or others in their households.”
California was a state Biden easily won by 29 points while not even bothering to campaign there.
For Biden to have a negative approval rating in one of most reliably blue states in the country is a five-alarm fire for Democrats.
If Biden is this unpopular in deep blue California, it confirms his approval rating in swing states is catastrophically bad.
With the midterm elections coming up in the fall, Democrats are in deep trouble.
Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer are clinging to razor-thin majorities in Congress.
They have almost no margin of error if they want to keep Democrat control of Congress.
Democrats in Congress will have to run on Joe Biden’s record of failure on nearly every issue.
Two of California’s neighbors, Arizona and Nevada, are expected to be two of the biggest battleground states in the fight for Senate control.
If Biden is polling that badly in California, then they’re likely doomed in those two bordering swing states.
A victory in either Senate race would likely give Republicans control of the Senate.
While California hasn’t been competitive in statewide elections, Republicans are targeting competitive House seats in the state.
The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) is targeting seven Democrat incumbents there.
“Californians know Democrats are to blame for the high cost of goods and gas, and will vote them out in November,” NRCC spokeswoman Torunn Sinclair said.
With only a five seat majority in the House, Nancy Pelosi’s home state could be the difference in ripping the Speaker’s gavel from her.
The problems are only going to keep mounting for Biden.
Soaring gas prices and inflation are expected to get worse.
