Democrats are furious with Nancy Pelosi for this surprising reason

Everything is going wrong for Nancy Pelosi.

But she never expected her own party to turn on her.

Now Democrats are furious with Nancy Pelosi for this surprising reason.

Democrats thought Hispanic voters would give them an iron grip on power for decades to come.

As the fast-growing demographic in America today, they were supposed to help the Left flip key swing states solidly blue.

And former President Donald Trump’s tough border security policies were supposed to only result in permanently cementing Hispanic Americans as reliable Democrat voters.

But President Trump’s 2020 campaign saw the first signs of a major shift happening across the country, as Hispanic voters started moving into the Republican column.

During Joe Biden’s failed Presidency, polling has consistently shown that Hispanics are still in the process of drifting away from Democrats.

Texas’s Rio Grande Valley, which runs along the southern border and has large Hispanic majorities, is ground zero for this political sea change in 2022.

In Texas’s 34th Congressional District, incumbent Congressman Filemon Vela Jr. (D-TX) resigned to become a lobbyist, setting the stage for a special election.

Considering the fact that Texas’ 34th District runs through the heart of the Rio Grande Valley and has a population that is 84% Hispanic, this special election was a serious test of the GOP’s growing strength with Hispanic voters.

After all, former President Barack Obama easily carried the 34th District by 23-points during his 2012 re-election run.

In the special election, Republican candidate Mayra Flores, a Mexican-American immigrant and the wife of a Border Patrol agent, won an upset victory by 9-points.

Prior to her win, Texas’ 34th Congressional District had been represented by a Democrat for over 100 years, and in previous elections, Republicans had barely contested the district because of its strong Democrat lean.

Flores’ victory has confirmed that Republicans’ growing strength with Hispanic voters is very real.

After taking the Hispanic vote for granted, Democrats are in disarray with finger pointing over the shocking loss.

Hispanic Democrats are sounding the alarm about the Democrat Party’s utter collapse with Hispanic voters, and have pinned the blame for the loss on Democrat leadership in the U.S. House.

Collin Steele, who served as campaign manager for Flores’ Democrat opponent, Dan Sanchez, slammed Democrat Party leadership for not doing enough to help win the race.

He told the Texas Tribune that national Democrats’ failure to invest in the race represented “a complete and total abdication of duty.”

“The DCCC, DNC, and other associated national committees have failed at their single purpose of existence: winning elections,” Steele added.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) is the official campaign arm of House Democrats and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).

Rep. Vicente Gonzalez (D-TX) represents a neighboring Congressional District, and after redistricting, will face off against Mayra Flores this fall in a newly drawn district.

But he too ripped the DCCC for the loss in Texas’ 34th Congressional District.

“I hope the DCCC learns their lesson with this before it happens across the country,” said Rep. Gonzalez.

“They have just forgotten about the brown people on the border,” Gonzalez continued. “And that’s basically what it is. I’m not going to try to sugarcoat it anymore. They are taking Latinos in South Texas for granted.”

After years of taking Hispanic voters for granted, Democrats are finally paying the political price.

Texas has been ravaged by Biden’s southern border crisis causing former Democrat strongholds, like Texas’ 34th District, to turn red.

The special election in Texas 34th Congressional District could be a preview of Democrat’s growing problem with Hispanic voters for the Midterms.
