Bill Clinton’s Strategist Had Some Awful News for Democrats on Bill Maher

Democrats are still trying to figure out a new direction going into the midterm elections.

The party still hasn’t learned the hard lessons of 2024.

Now the man who elected Bill Clinton twice just went on national television and admitted what every working-class voter in America already knew.

Paul Begala Admits Democrats Lost the Working Class

"We used to be the party of the factory floor," Paul Begala told Bill Maher, "and now we're the party of the faculty lounge."

He wasn't done.

Begala mocked Democrats for calling prisoners "justice-involved populations" – language so sanitized it has become a punchline to normal Americans.

"I grew up in a prison town," he said. "We call them crooks. Prisoners, convicts, inmates."

The intellectual elitism, he added, is "so off-putting" – the "sanctimony, the judgmentalism."

That is Bill Clinton's chief strategist. Not a Fox News host.

The man who helped run the 1992 Clinton campaign said it on Real Time with Bill Maher – which means even the left-wing media entertainment complex can no longer pretend it isn't true.

Begala also called Biden's 2024 campaign a "tragedy" – and he was right, just not for the reasons he thinks.

Biden was a cognitively diminished man who froze on a national debate stage in front of 50 million Americans.

The entire Democrat Party stayed silent while it happened, protecting careers instead of their country. Begala named the talent that got buried waiting for Biden to step aside: Shapiro, Newsom, Wes Moore, Andy Beshear.

All of them stood aside while a man who couldn't finish a sentence ran for the most powerful office on earth.

Steve Hilton and Chad Bianco Are Leading the California Governor Race

Here's what should terrify every Democrat strategist in America.

Republicans Steve Hilton and Chad Bianco are leading the California governor's race right now.

California – the state that backed Kamala Harris by 20 points in 2024 – is polling two Republicans ahead of every Democrat in the field.

Hilton sits at 17 percent, Bianco at 16 percent, according to the March Berkeley IGS poll.

Eric Swalwell and Katie Porter – sitting members of Congress from a state with 20 million registered Democrats – are both at 13 percent and trailing.

California has an all party primary with the top two vote getters regardless of party advancing to the general election.

Democrats have so many candidates in the race that their vote is being carved into pieces while Republicans unite behind two strong contenders.

California Democrat Party Chairman Rusty Hicks is now begging candidates to drop out before the April 15 filing deadline – because otherwise Republicans win the deepest-blue state in America.

Woke Democrats Are Still Pushing Sanctuary Cities After Losing in 2024

The Democrat Party didn't drift to the faculty lounge by accident.

Radical left-wing activists took it there – and they are still running it today.

After getting destroyed in 2024, Democrats had a choice.

They could have listened to the Belagas and the James Carvilles – the people who actually won elections – and moved back toward the working class.

They didn't.

Senate Democrats blocked Lindsey Graham's legislation to abolish sanctuary cities. Democrat-run states went to court to fight Trump's ICE enforcement – siding with illegal aliens over American communities.

And the radical left-wing activist class that controls the party base? They pushed for more. More protests, more sanctuary policies, more woke corporate language, more of everything that lost them the White House, the Senate, and the House in 2024.

Chuck Schumer spelled out the calculus years ago: "We want to trade one working-class voter in western Pennsylvania for two suburbanites in Philadelphia."

The activist class heard that and built an entire party around it.

When the architects of the last Democrat winning coalition go on national television to warn the party it's destroying itself – and the radical left-wing activists who write the checks, staff the campaigns, and flood the inboxes keep pushing the same losing agenda anyway – that's not a party that lost its way.

That's a party that chose its way.

Pronoun policies over pipe fitters. Sanctuary cities over the communities that live with the consequences. They looked a working-class voter in the eye and chose "justice-involved populations" – every single time.

The Democrat Party Is Out of Touch and Voters Know It

Paul Begala built the machine that elected Bill Clinton.

He knows exactly what it takes to win working-class voters – and he spent Friday night on HBO confessing that his party threw all of it away.

When the guy who got Bill Clinton elected is doing the post-mortem on your party on HBO, you're not getting a warning – you're getting a eulogy.

The 2024 election delivered the clearest mandate in a generation: secure the border, stop the radical left agenda, put American workers first.

Democrats lost the White House, the Senate, and the House.

Their approval rating hit 31 percent by January 2025 – the lowest in modern history.

In March 2026, their own strategists are still going on television to beg the party to act like normal human beings.

The radical left-wing activist class isn't listening.

They never were.

Donald Trump showed working class voters that they had alternative to the madness.
