Trump Derangement Syndrome has been plaguing Democrats and their media allies for years now.

They just can’t seem to beat this deadly mind virus.

And now Tucker Carlson was shocked when former NASCAR driver Danica Patrick explained what causes Trump Derangement Syndrome.

Tucker Carlson launched the Tucker Carlson Network (TCN) after Fox News executives fired him without warning last April.

Carlson started his network with the goal of “telling the truth about the things that matter” on a daily basis.

Since launching TCN, Carlson has interviewed a wide range of guests, from Russian President Vladimir Putin and New York Jets Quarterback Aaron Rodgers to rock star Kid Rock and golf legend John Daly.

On Sunday, Carlson posted an interview he conducted with former NASCAR driver Danica Patrick.

Patrick made history as the first and only woman to win an IndyCar Series race with her 2008 victory in the Indy Japan 300 – albeit only because all of the drivers in front of her were short on fuel and couldn’t make it to the end of the race without pitting in the final laps.

After making the jump to NASCAR for a bigger payday and larger fan base, she became the second woman to win the pole position in a NASCAR Nationwide Series – now known as the NASCAR Xfinity Series – race.

She ultimately made her way to the Cup Series, where she recorded just seven top-tens in over 190 career races and never finished higher than 24th in the Championship standings.

After retiring from motorsports competition in 2018, she parlayed the celebrity status she was given into a media career and launched a weekly podcast called Pretty Intense in 2019.

Patrick recently appeared for a sit-down interview with Carlson that has already been viewed by more than three million people on X, as of this writing.

“Have you been attacked?” Carlson asked in reference to Patrick’s conservative views. “You said you were attacked online.”

“Yeah, well, I was super surprised by how it went when I went to the Turning Point event and when I talked about loving my country and posting these pictures,” she said. “I went with my sister and it was just a fun few days, and I was just really surprised that people could be so angry about — and I didn’t even make a stance,” she continued. “I think everybody thinks it’s basically a Trump rally.”

Carlson brought up the “hysteria and brain shutting down” that Democrats have whenever Trump is mentioned.

After Carlson said he didn’t “understand” it, Patrick offered him an answer as to why Democrats have Trump Derangement Syndrome.

“People are very triggered,” Patrick remarked.

“But why?” Carlson asked. “What is it about that?”

“There are foundational things to our life: politics, religion,” she said. “These are foundational to our reality, and what we’ve built our life on. And when you pull one of those out from the foundation — this is my opinion — but I think that what happens is there is an implied subconscious understanding that, when you pull out one of those building blocks, that it’s going to be a snowball effect for the rest of your life.”

“Like, if you pull out one of those foundational elements, what else isn’t true?” she added.

“Oh, it’s true,” Carlson said.

“What else about your life isn’t going to work anymore?” she responded. “And that is a whole — that is a global life change to pull something foundational out.”

Patrick’s thoughtful answer impressed Carlson.

“I didn’t expect you to be the smartest professional athlete,” Carlson claimed.

Given all the athletes Carlson has interviewed in his long media career, this is a major compliment for Patrick.
