Leavitt just walked out of the White House for the last time as press secretary. The youngest person ever to hold the position – she took the podium at 27 – she spent 20 months as the face of the Trump administration before announcing she would leave at the end of August to spend time with her two young children.
Trump called her departure "a decision I totally understand and respect," but couldn't resist adding at a White House event this week that she "decided she loved her children more than she loved Donald Trump. I'm very upset about this."
She is heading to MAGA Inc., Trump's super PAC, where she'll help drive Republican candidates through the November midterms.
Enter ABC.
According to the Daily Mail, The View wants Leavitt on its panel – first as a guest, then as a permanent fixture. A source told the outlet that ABC representatives have made it "very clear to people close to Leavitt that they want her."
The show's 30th season begins this fall with all six current hosts returning, but producers see Leavitt as the conservative voice the show has failed to find for years.
Trump, per the report, welcomes the idea.

In the 2024 – 25 season, the Media Research Center counted 102 left-wing guests on the show and zero conservatives. Not one Republican appeared to defend Trump's agenda. The show's producer insisted Republicans were "scared" to come on. Conservatives showed up with receipts proving the invitations never came.
This is a show that chewed through Candace Cameron Bure, Jedediah Bila, and a rotating cast of soft-spoken Republicans who wouldn't fight back. The only conservative who made the show work – Elisabeth Hasselbeck – did so because she refused to back down.
Meghan McCain drove ratings peaks for four straight years. When she left in 2021, producers spent months auditioning replacements who were, in their own words, "too wonky" and "conciliatory."
Alyssa Farah Griffin was supposed to fill the gap. She declared Trump "unfit for office" after January 6 and never looked back — which is not a conservative position, it is an audition for a different party.
Leavitt e stood at the White House podium for 20 months without flinching, handled a press corps that despised her agenda, and delivered Trump's message with precision every single time.
Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar Threatened to Quit the Moment a Real Conservative Appeared
A senior producer on The View told the Daily Mail that adding Leavitt is an "absolutely a horrible idea" and predicted an on-air exodus.
"They will quit, a bunch of them. Whoopi, Joy, Sunny, Ana. They'd walk," the insider said.
The same hosts who spent years claiming they wanted authentic conservative voices on the panel are now threatening to walk the moment a genuinely effective one appears — and their record of personal attacks on Leavitt makes the hypocrisy hard to miss.
Joy Behar argued Leavitt only got her job because of her looks. Whoopi Goldberg said Leavitt's comments condemning "wokeness" in the media really "p***ed me off." Sunny Hostin mocked Leavitt's marriage to real estate developer Nicholas Riccio, 60, calling Leavitt's "silver spoon" criticism "rich" given her husband's wealth.
Women who actually wanted a fair fight at the table would not spend two years cataloguing personal attacks on the one person capable of delivering it.
The most-watched daytime show in America just threatened to blow up its strongest ratings opportunity in years – because the hosts who claim to want debate are terrified of someone who knows how to win one.
Leavitt has not commented. ABC has not confirmed the talks. She starts at MAGA Inc. with one open question trailing her out the door – whether she walks back into that studio on her own terms and makes Behar answer for every word she said.
