Ralph Norman Is Running for Lindsey Graham’s Senate Seat and He Has a Message for Lisa Murkowski

Lisa Murkowski just endorsed the candidate running against Ralph Norman for Lindsey Graham's Senate seat.

Now the only Republican who voted to kill Trump's top priority is backing his pick for Senate.

South Carolina Republicans have until August 25 to decide whether to send a proven Freedom Caucus fighter to Washington or hand Murkowski another ally.

Ralph Norman Is Running for Lindsey Graham's Seat to Pass Voter ID and Proof of Citizenship

Rep. Ralph Norman is in a Republican runoff for South Carolina's open U.S. Senate seat – the one held for two decades by the late Sen. Lindsey Graham, who died unexpectedly in July.

The Aug. 25 runoff pits Norman against Sen. Darline Graham, Lindsey's sister, who was appointed by Gov. Henry McMaster to serve out the final months of her brother's term.

Norman built his House Freedom Caucus record the hard way – nine years of votes that most senators can't match.

Heritage Action has scored him at 100 percent this term.

Gun Owners of America and Turning Point USA are both behind him.

He co-sponsored the Life at Conception Act.

He voted for the Laken Riley Act, the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act, and every ICE funding bill that came across his desk.

On guns, life, immigration, taxes, and the SAVE Act, Norman has a decade of roll call votes that prove exactly where he stands.

"If we don't have safe and secure elections we don't have a republic," Norman told Breitbart News Saturday.

Rick Scott and Mike Lee – two of the most reliable MAGA votes in the chamber – broke with Trump specifically to back him.

Trump Backed Darline Graham for South Carolina Senate but the House Freedom Caucus Backed Norman

Darline Graham co-sponsored the SAVE Act and has Trump's complete and total endorsement – the kind Trump reiterated Friday after the August 11 primary results came in.

Lisa Murkowski is also in her corner – one of four Republicans who repeatedly voted to block the SAVE Act, alongside Susan Collins, Mitch McConnell, and Thom Tillis.

The NRSC is behind her too – the establishment apparatus that keeps pushing Chamber of Commerce Republicans into seats conservatives then have to fight to recover.

And a left-wing clean energy PAC called the Invest in Tomorrow Coalition – a group that backed Kamala Harris – just announced it is dropping a million dollars into ads against Norman.

Darline Graham had never won an elected race before August 11.

McMaster appointed her to fill the waning months of her late brother's term after his death in July.

She won 33 percent in a ten-candidate field – a plurality, not a mandate.

Two-thirds of the full six-year term she's running for will be served after Trump leaves the White House.

South Carolina cannot afford on-the-job training in a Senate that already has too many go-along Republicans – and Norman has the votes to prove he isn't one of them.

"It's been the institution where good legislation has gone to die," Norman said.

"We don't have the time or the runway to put up with that."

One Senate Vote Is All That Stands Between the SAVE America Act and the 2026 Midterm Elections

Norman's base is the Upstate.

Graham carried the Lowcountry and Midlands.

A two-week runoff sprint to bridge that gap sounds like a local political story – it's not.

The Washington establishment picks a friendly face, loads up the super PAC, and gets a senator who votes right on the easy ones and folds when it matters.

Norman has never been that type of Congressman.

The question on Aug. 25 is whether enough South Carolina Republicans are willing to tell Trump his endorsement picked the wrong candidate.
