Barack Obama created the Dreamer program and spent years telling America those illegal aliens deserved to stay.
Donald Trump has been sounding the alarm on it since his first term.
And Michelle Obama praised Dreamers on national television and it blew up in her face instantly.
Obama Presidential Center Opens as Michelle Obama Calls Dreamers the Beating Heart of America
Barack Obama opened his presidential center in Chicago's Jackson Park this week – years behind schedule, with Illinois taxpayers absorbing $350 million in infrastructure costs they never voted for.
He used the occasion to go after the men who built this country.
Standing before three former presidents, Oprah Winfrey, and Bruce Springsteen, Obama told the crowd that "the founders fell terribly short of the Declaration's promise, leaving slavery intact, allowing states to restrict the franchise to white men who owned property."
They opened the ceremony with a land acknowledgement to Native American tribes – because of course they did.
Then Michelle Obama took the microphone.
"Dreamers aren't Americans, too," she told the crowd. "They are America. They are the beating heart of this country. They are us and we are them."
She added that "failing to recognize the humanity in all people puts us all on a slippery slope."
Dreamers are illegal aliens Barack Obama illegally shielded from deportation by executive order in 2012 – no congressional approval, no vote.
DACA Recipient Abraham Alvarez Named Ringleader of UFC Freedom 250 White House Terror Plot
Four days before Michelle Obama's speech, the FBI arrested Abraham Alvarez at a residence in Obama, Nebraska.
His alias was "Shepherd."
DHS confirmed that Alvarez – a 31-year-old Mexican national – was "the ringleader" of a plot to attack UFC Freedom 250 at the White House on June 14, the event attended by President Trump, his family, and hundreds of guests.
The plan called for explosive-laden drones to trigger a chaotic evacuation, then steer the panicked crowd toward waiting sniper teams.
Alvarez entered the United States in 2001 on a B-2 visitor visa – meant for tourism or short-term medical treatment, not permanent residence.
His parents let the visa expire.
In 2014, Barack Obama's DACA program handed Alvarez deportation protection and work authorization – officially making him one of the Dreamers Michelle Obama just celebrated on national television.
DHS spokeswoman Lauren Bis said what the Obamas won't: "This illegal alien from Mexico should never have been allowed in our country."
Four co-conspirators were arrested in Ohio, Missouri, and California – each with caches of firearms, ammunition, and combat gear at their residences.
Federal charges include conspiracy to commit murder and conspiracy to commit violence on White House grounds.
ICE has lodged a detainer against Alvarez.
The Justice Department identified up to 23 additional co-conspirators linked to the network.
Obama DACA Program Shielded Illegal Aliens With Criminal Records From Deportation
The Alvarez arrest didn't come out of nowhere.
Heritage Foundation research found that among DACA recipients who had prior arrests, 13 percent went on to commit additional crimes after Obama handed them deportation protection – roughly 8,000 people who should have been gone.
Former USCIS Director Francis Cissna admitted what Obama never would.
"The truth is that we let those with criminal arrests for sexually assaulting a minor, kidnapping, human trafficking, child pornography, and even murder be provided protection from removal."
Michelle Obama called these scumbags the “beating heart” of America.
Between January and November 2025, ICE arrested 261 DACA recipients – 92 percent of them with criminal histories beyond immigration violations alone.
Douglas County Sheriff Aaron Hanson, whose deputies helped take Alvarez down, was direct: Alvarez "never should have been here."
Trump's DHS caught him.
Obama's DACA created him.
