Joy Behar Just Gave Republicans Exactly The Ammo Needed for November

The View spent decades telling conservatives their socialism fears were paranoid fantasies.

Now socialism just won three congressional primaries in New York – and The View couldn’t be happier about it.

What Joy Behar said on live television was an unexpected gift to every Republican admaker in America.

Joy Behar Defends Democratic Socialism on The View

The episode aired one day after New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s endorsed congressional candidates swept three Democrat primary races, knocking out two incumbents the party establishment had backed.

The wins rattled Washington and handed Republicans a ready-made weapon heading into the midterms.

Joy Behar’s response to the socialist surge wasn’t alarm. It was celebration.

“Social Security is democratic socialism,” she told the audience. “Partly unemployment insurance is. The people who pick up your garbage, the people who take the fire out of your house. All of these are democratic socialism.”

She added: “If I fall down, I want an ambulance. If my house is on fire, bring your hose.”

In one segment, Behar confirmed every concern conservatives have expressed for years about where the Democrat Party was heading – and presented it as a reason not to worry.

The Democratic Socialists of America Want to Abolish the Police and All Prisons

Behar forgot to mention the part about abolishing the police.

The three congressional candidates backed by Mamdani – New York City’s newly elected socialist mayor – don’t just support Social Security.

Democratic Socialists of America, which endorsed Avila Chevalier and Valdez, officially promotes defunding the police, abolishing ICE, abolishing all prisons, and government-controlled housing and healthcare.

Alyssa Farah Griffin, the one co-host on The View willing to tell the truth, pressed the point. One of the newly elected candidates was asked four times how she would handle someone who committed murder if there were no police or prisons. She dodged the question all four times.

Behar heard this and went quiet. “I don’t like the way she sounds at all,” she said – before immediately adding: “She’s not the party.”

She is the party. That’s what Tuesday’s results proved.

Dan Bongino called it exactly what it is.

“The reason socialism remains popular with a class of generally stupid people, I don’t know any other way to say it, is because they just refuse to learn what it is. Socialism is the government control of the means of production,” he said on Jesse Watters’ show.

“Does the government control the asphalt business? Does the government control the construction of ambulances? Because if they don’t, then that’s not socialism.”

National Republican Congressional Committee spokesman Mike Marinella was unsparing: “Tonight was the night the Democrat establishment officially surrendered to Zohran Mamdani and the socialist wing of their party.”

House Speaker Mike Johnson: “There are mini Mamdanis popping up all around the country. It is a dangerous thing. This is not a joke. We are in a fight right now to save the republic, and every American needs to take this seriously. You need to wake up.”

What the Mamdani NYC Primary Wins Mean for the 2026 Midterms

Mamdani’s three congressional wins are locked in safe Democrat seats – those races aren’t competitive. But every Democrat running in a purple district now has to answer for what happened in New York.

Do they embrace the socialist surge or reject it? Hakeem Jeffries hasn’t figured out the answer. Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand refused to endorse Mamdani’s candidates at all.

The NRCC is already using Mamdani as a weapon in competitive races, and Joy Behar just handed them the footage they needed.

A wealthy ABC television host cheerfully explaining that abolishing police and prisons is basically the same thing as picking up your trash is fodder campaign ads.

The Democrat Party is being overtaken by radicals and their apparatchiks in the media like Behar are dismissing it as a cute sideshow.
