Joe Biden Just Created a New Midterm Headache for Democrats With His Memoir Announcement

Jill Biden told the world she thought her husband was having a stroke during their 2024 debate.

Now Joe Biden wants America to buy his version of what happened in a seven-figure memoir.

There is just one problem with Biden's plan to rewrite his own history.

Democrats Warn Biden His Promise Me America Book Tour Could Cost Them the Midterms

Joe Biden announced this week that he is publishing a memoir titled Promise Me, America, set for release November 17 – two weeks after the 2026 midterm elections.

Biden says the book will cover the economy, the decisions he made in office, and why he abandoned his 2024 reelection bid.

He said in a video announcement that he has been dealing with a cancer diagnosis and treatment is going well.

What Biden did not address is why November – when every Democrat in America is praying voters stay focused on Donald Trump and not on him. The Bidens promotional efforts for the book will almost certainly begin before the election.

Party leaders could not have been clearer: stop talking about 2024.

New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham told reporters at a Democrat National Committee meeting in Washington that she does not need to be distracted by anyone's book.

Former Pennsylvania Representative Susan Wild, who lost her 2024 seat, said she wants Democrats to move past relitigating the last election entirely.

None of that matters to the Bidens.

This is the second Biden memoir in two months – Jill's View from the East Wing dropped in June and immediately detonated inside the Democrat Party.

Jill Biden wrote that she watched her husband on the 2024 debate stage against Trump and feared he was suffering a stroke.

She took him to a Waffle House in Atlanta afterward while publicly telling him he "did such a great job."

The White House initially told the country he had a cold.

The liberal media spent years calling anyone who raised questions about Biden's mental fitness a right-wing conspiracy theorist.

Now his own wife put it in print.

Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson documented the full operation in their 2025 book Original Sin – subtitled President Biden's Decline, Its Cover-Up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again.

That book came from two of the most Biden-friendly reporters in Washington, and even they could not make the story look good.

Biden Fought in Federal Court to Keep Robert Hur Audio Recordings Hidden

Biden has spent months in federal court fighting to block the release of audio recordings from his interview with Special Counsel Robert Hur.

Hur investigated whether Biden illegally retained classified documents as a senator and vice president – and his 345-page report described the sitting president of the United States as a "well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory."

Transcripts of Hur’s audio recordings show that Biden forgot what year his son died and when he served as vice president.

U.S. District Judge Dabney Friedrich rejected Biden's bid in June, finding the American public has a right to hear those recordings regardless of what Biden wants.

Biden wants America reading his memoir while his lawyers fight to keep the Hur recordings sealed.

A man confident in his own record does not spend months suing the federal government to keep his own voice hidden from the public.

Biden's memoir is a reputation laundering operation dressed up with a Little, Brown and Company imprint.

Biden will turn 84 three days after the book's publication date, and Democrats who blame him for handing Trump the White House are now watching him mount a book tour that puts his face in every newspaper in America heading into the midterms.

The party wanted Biden gone.

Biden keeps showing up anyway.

Original Sin laid out exactly how Biden's inner circle convinced him he could still win in 2024 while hiding his decline from the public and from his own party.

That cover-up handed Trump the White House.

Biden wants his memoir on shelves before those recordings go public.

Democrats spent years covering for Joe Biden, and now Biden is forcing them to relive every minute of it.
