The culture of corruption runs deep in the Democrat Party.

Now chaos has erupted after a probe was opened into one of the Party’s “rising stars.”

And Joe Biden is panicking over the criminal investigation facing this battleground state’s Democrat Governor.

Democrat Governor under investigation in corruption scandal

Arizona is one of the top seven battleground states many believe will ultimately decide the 2024 election.

Former President Donald Trump is looking to flip the state back into the Republican column after narrowly losing it to Biden in 2020.

Arizona is also home to one of the most hotly-contested Senate races in the country between Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) and Republican Senate candidate Kari Lake.

Now, one of the biggest corruption scandals in the country is unfolding in the state.

Arizona Democrat Governor Katie Hobbs is under fire for an alleged pay-to-play scheme involving a campaign donor.

Now, Arizona Democrat Attorney General Kris Mayes announced her office opened a criminal investigation into Hobbs after a request from Republican state Senator T.J. Shope.

“The Criminal Division of the Attorney General’s Office is statutorily authorized to investigate the allegations and offenses outlined in your letter,” Mayes wrote. “To that end, the Attorney General’s Office will be opening an investigation.”

Damning allegations against Arizona’s Governor

The Arizona Republic, one of the largest newspapers in the state, dropped a bombshell report that raised serious questions about Hobbs.

Sunshine Residential Homes – a private company that runs group homes for foster kids – received a 60% rate increase from the Arizona Department of Child Safety (DCS) for taxpayer-funded payments to house kids.

The company had previously been denied a rate increase.

But after Sunshine Residential Homes donated $400,000 to Hobbs’ inauguration committee and the Arizona Democrat Party, the rate increase was magically approved.

Interestingly enough, the company’s CEO also served on Hobbs’ inauguration committee.

The company received the rate increase in May 2023, and it far exceeded the rate other group homes were being paid by Arizona taxpayers.

Sunshine Residential Homes is the only group home provider that has been approved for a rate increase under Hobbs, who also happens to be a former social worker.

The rate increase came at a time when the DCS claimed it was looking to move kids out of group homes and place them with foster families.

DCS ended contracts with 16 group home companies as part of this shift in strategy.

Senator Shope opened the investigation after he read the story in The Arizona Republic.

“I have to believe that they, at the very least, see the allegations the same way that I do, which is troubling at best and possibly worse,” Shope said.

“We were talking about millions of dollars, and to know that not many, if any at all, have seen rate increases that large, it was definitely troubling,” he added.

Hobbs predictably blamed Republicans for the investigation.

“Just like past investigations instigated by radical and partisan legislators, the administration will be cleared of wrongdoing. Governor Hobbs is a social worker who has been a champion for Arizona families and kids. It is outrageous to suggest her administration would not do what’s right for children in foster care,” a statement from Hobbs’ office reads.

A corruption scandal will be a dark cloud hanging over the heads of Democrats in one of the most important battleground states in the country.
