Blue state prosecutors have spent years making sure criminal illegal aliens never face deportation no matter what they do.
Jim Jordan has had enough, and two more sanctuary DAs just found out.
What those prosecutors put in writing about how they handle criminal illegal alien defendants is about to come out.
30 Arrests, a Deportation Order, and a Dead American Woman
Abdul Jalloh, an illegal alien from Sierra Leone, had been arrested more than 30 times – charges including rape, malicious wounding, drug possession, identity theft, larceny, firing a weapon, and five counts of felony malicious wounding since 2023 alone.
He had a final deportation order dating to 2020 and was still in Fairfax County, Virginia.
Police warned Fairfax County Commonwealth's Attorney Steve Descano – a Soros-backed prosecutor – about Jalloh at least three times. Each warning was ignored.
On February 23, 2026, Jalloh followed Stephanie Minter, 41, of Fredericksburg, off a bus in the Hybla Valley neighborhood and stabbed her to death in broad daylight.
Descano's office had dropped charges against Jalloh in at least 20 of the 40-plus cases filed against him over the years.
Fairfax County Police Chief Kevin Davis called the murder "absolutely preventable."
Stephanie's mother, Cheryl Minter, launched a recall petition that collected more than 12,400 signatures.
"Thirty times the system had a chance to stop him," she wrote. "Thirty times. I think about that every single day. This was not an unavoidable tragedy. It was the predictable consequence of decisions made by Descano."
Jordan Subpoenas Sanctuary City DAs Over Preferential Treatment of Criminal Illegal Aliens
House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, stopped asking.
Jordan issued subpoenas to Descano and Boulder County District Attorney Michael Dougherty, both accused of giving "preferential treatment" to criminal illegal aliens when deciding whether and how to prosecute crimes.
"Your office's lenient treatment of foreign national criminals endangers communities and ensures that criminal aliens escape both criminal and immigration accountability for their actions," Jordan wrote to Descano.
Both DAs must comply by September 25.
Jordan's committee has spent months investigating sanctuary district attorneys who soften charges against illegal alien defendants to shield them from deportation, regardless of what crime was committed.
The probe runs alongside Rep. Tom McClintock, R-Calif., who chairs the Judiciary subcommittee on immigration enforcement.
Jordan subpoenaed Philadelphia DA Larry Krasner in July after Krasner stonewalled the committee for more than two months without producing a single document.
Krasner is now the subject of a federal criminal referral – a judge removed him from a murder case last week and referred him to the DOJ over what the court described as possible criminal wrongdoing, false statements, and perjury.
Descano's 2019 campaign for DA received hundreds of thousands of dollars from the Justice and Public Safety PAC, whose backers include George Soros. He issued formal plea bargaining guidance in 2020 directing his prosecutors to "consider immigration consequences where possible" – guidance that translated, in practice, to releasing men like Abdul Jalloh back into Fairfax neighborhoods.
Boulder adopted a sanctuary ordinance in January 2017 directing government workers not to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement. Dougherty, whose office also stonewalled Jordan's committee, recently lost his Democrat primary campaign for Colorado attorney general.
Descano's office called Jordan's action "part of a partisan siege on Fairfax County residents and their values." Dougherty dismissed it as "political theater." Neither man addressed the 30 arrests, the three police warnings, or Stephanie Minter.
The Soros-Funded DA Network Shielding Criminal Illegal Aliens From ICE
"You've got not just Descano, but it looks like Alvin Bragg up in New York, Larry Krasner in Philadelphia, so many of these DAs who are doing the same darn thing," Jordan told Fox News Digital.
George Soros funds the campaigns, the DAs take office, and the sanctuary policies follow. Law enforcement identifies dangerous individuals and flags them to prosecutors. The prosecutors release them anyway. Americans die.
Then they call congressional oversight "political theater."
Fairfax County sits just outside Washington, D.C. A DA operating sanctuary policies in the shadow of the nation's capital – shielding career criminals from a federal government with a legal obligation to remove them – is not a local matter. Jordan is right to treat it like a national one.
The September 25 deadline gives Descano and Dougherty one last chance to hand over documents they have spent months refusing to produce.
If they stonewall again, contempt proceedings become the next step. And the Stephanie Minters of America deserve to know whether their prosecutors are making choices based on the law or on the politics of the men who funded their campaigns.
