Greg Abbott just lost the Texas governor's race to a Democrat for the first time in three decades.
Now Jesse Watters is warning that if Democrats keep Texas, Republicans may never reach the White House again.
And his indictment of how Republicans burned their moment should make every MAGA voter furious.
Texas Turned Blue as Democrats Swept Abbott and Paxton in the 2026 Midterms
Gina Hinojosa just became Texas' first Democrat governor in decades, defeating Greg Abbott on Tuesday.
James Talarico beat Ken Paxton for the Texas Senate seat, ending more than 30 years of Republican control of that office.
Democrats also took control of the Texas State House, which Republicans have held since 2003 – suburban counties that voted Republican in 2024 flipped blue, and border counties Republicans had flipped in 2024 came back to Democrats Tuesday night.
Jesse Watters looked at those numbers on his Fox News show and said what most Republicans won't.
"They seize Texas and are on pace for the biggest midterm landslide since Watergate," Watters said. "Now, if Texas stays blue, a Republican will never sniff the White House ever again."
"Democrats haven't won the white vote since 1964, Johnson-Goldwater," Watters continued. "Let this sink in. Democrats are on the cusp of winning a majority of whites, blacks, and Hispanics. Open borders is suicide."
The white vote is supposed to be the floor of the Republican coalition – the one thing Democrats couldn't touch no matter what they promised.
If they crack it after four years of porous borders, rising crime, and radical gender ideology, every assumed red county becomes a battle and every safe Senate map becomes a question.
After his segment, Watters posted: "The Trump coalition SHATTERED… and the GOP almost LOST WHITE VOTERS."

Vance Blamed the Iran War and Trump Said He Has No Regrets
JD Vance was on X Wednesday morning before most Republicans had finished their coffee.
"The reason we lost is the war," he posted, pointing squarely at Iran. Trump voters – the people who handed Republicans their 2024 trifecta – defected over the conflict, Vance said, and he called on the party to end the war, focus on the cost of living, and rethink the relationship with Israel.
Trump told The Wall Street Journal he had "no regrets" and "would have done it again." He also blamed Greg Abbott on social media, calling him a "RINO."
The official party autopsy is: blame the candidates, blame the war, blame anyone but the agenda.
Watters had something else in mind.
"We had a two-year window to dismantle the Democrat Party, shut down their illegal fundraising, whack Antifa, and put Tish James, Comey, Fannie, and her little lover boy behind bars," Watters said. "You think the Left's gonna take it easy on MAGA?"
"They're already talking about abolishing the Electoral College, impeaching the president, and executing Elon Musk," Watters said.
The 2028 Electoral College Problem Republicans Just Created for Themselves
Republicans were handed a historic mandate in 2024 and two years to use it, and they didn't.
George W. Bush walked into the same trap in 2006 – an unpopular second-term war ate the party alive at the midterms and handed Congress to Democrats. Bush called it a "thumpin'," and it took Republicans four years just to start rebuilding.
Trump has two years left in the White House and now faces a Democratic Congress, a Democrat Texas governor, and a Democrat Texas senator who wasn't on anyone's radar 18 months ago.
The Republican-controlled Senate clocked fewer floor hours in 2026 than any midterm Congress since 1990.
The Iran war didn't just cost Republicans Tuesday's election – it cost them the argument they ran on in 2024. America First meant staying out of foreign wars, keeping prices down, and securing the border.
Voters who showed up for Trump in 2024 expected all three and watched the administration deliver none of them.
Ron DeSantis called the Iran war a Republican "backfire," and Vance called for an "honest conversation" about where the party goes next.
Neither one asked the question that actually matters: why did a party that controlled Washington top to bottom fail to put a single Democrat in handcuffs?
Watters is right about the Electoral College math. Add 40 electoral votes from Texas to what Democrats already hold in California, New York, and the blue wall states, and they enter every presidential race past 270 before a single battleground vote is cast.
The autopsy Watters is demanding starts with one question: what did Republicans actually accomplish when they had Washington to themselves?
