Jill Biden walked off the debate stage and told a roaring crowd her husband had just answered every question.
Now she wants you to believe she was standing there thinking he was having a stroke.
Her former spokesman just went on television and explained exactly what she's doing – and it isn't pretty.
Jill Biden Ran the Biden Debate Cover-Up From the Front Row
Michael LaRosa served as Jill Biden's press secretary in the White House from 2021 to 2022.
He knows how the operation worked.
When Jill sat down with CBS Sunday Morning last week and said watching Joe on that Atlanta debate stage "scared me to death" because she feared he was having a stroke, LaRosa didn't buy the rewrite for a second.
"They're trying to change the tape in people's minds about who she is," LaRosa told Fox News. "That's why she's sort of changing her tune a little bit about her reaction in real time."
LaRosa said Jill Biden was "the face and the voice of the initial reaction for the country" – and that face was grinning.
If she had actually been terrified that night, he said, "it would have been a more human response" to show it.
She didn't.
She told Joe he did "such a great job" and that he "answered every question" – words delivered in front of cheering supporters, on camera, for all of America to see.
Jake Tapper Was at That Debate and Says the Stroke Story Does Not Hold Up
Jake Tapper co-moderated that debate alongside Dana Bash, and he's pushing back on Jill Biden's version of events just as hard.
"I should also disclose that I was one of the two moderators at the debate," Tapper said in a CNN video posted. "And after it, she and the president walked over to the table and they didn't act as if anything significant had just happened at all. They made polite chitchat. She certainly didn't act like somebody who was worried that her husband had just had a stroke."
Tapper co-authored Original Sin – a full investigation into how the Biden inner circle concealed Joe's decline from the American public.
Axios reporter Alex Thompson, who co-wrote the book, added that the behavior Jill now describes as shocking was anything but: "Biden aides told Jake Tapper and me that they had seen him act that way before and after. Those moments became more difficult to predict and conceal."
The debate wasn't a one-night anomaly.
His decline was routine – and the people around Joe Biden knew it.
View From the East Wing Confirms What Biden Aides Hid for Two Years
Jill Biden's memoir, View from the East Wing, was recently released.
The timing, tied to midterm politics, has her own party seething.
A senior Biden administration official told CNN the stroke admission was "quite an untimely revelation," adding that if Jill had expressed those fears at the time, it "brings into question his fitness for continued office."
She didn't say it then because saying it then would have ended his campaign on the spot.
Former Obama spokesman Tommy Vietor captured the Democrat fury in an X post: "Apparently the goal of this book is to dispel accusations of a coverup, but mostly its just enraging to read that this was JILL BIDEN'S(!!) reaction to the debate performance after the Biden family, campaign, and his supporters savaged people for articulating the same feelings."
Democrats who spent the summer of 2024 defending Joe Biden's fitness – attacking anyone who dared raise concerns – now know that Jill Biden privately agreed with every word those critics said.
In her memoir, as The Atlantic reported, she describes watching her husband on stage as like witnessing "an AI hologram of the man we knew, and the hologram was glitching."
Then she walked out and told America he did great.
LaRosa admitted in February 2025 that the Biden campaign was "gaslighting" the public on the president's age from "day one."
America wasn't allowed to be scared in 2024.
The media mocked anyone who raised concerns.
Democrats savaged doctors who questioned Biden's fitness.
She just waited until she had a book to sell to say so.
