James Carville has been winning elections for Democrats since before Ilhan Omar was an American citizen.
Now he said something on live radio that the rest of the party won't touch.
And James Carville went on SiriusXM to speak what every Democrat is afraid to admit out loud.
James Carville Tells Ilhan Omar to Leave the Democratic Party
The longtime Bill Clinton strategist joined Stephen A. Smith's Straight Shooter to revisit a May 2025 clip that had gone viral – one where Carville told Ilhan Omar to her face to get out of the Democrat Party.
He didn't back down.
Carville laid out the 2024 electorate: 72 percent of voters were white, and roughly half of those were male.
That puts White men at about 33 percent of everyone who votes – one-third of the entire American electorate.
"It's stupid to attack 33% of the voters," Carville said flatly.
This wasn't some late-night radio rant – it was a senior Democrat strategist telling the world, on the record, that his own party has been committing electoral suicide by letting Ilhan Omar define what Democrats believe about white men in America.
Carville told Omar directly: go start the Democratic Socialists of America, let the party welcome you into the governing coalition, but stay out of the electoral one.
Winning without white males, he said, is "mathematical insanity – cultural insanity."
Ilhan Omar Said White Men Should Be Feared and Never Apologized
The clip Carville was responding to goes back to 2018, when Omar sat down with Al Jazeera and said that "our country should be more fearful of white men across our country because they are actually causing most of the deaths within this country."
She called for profiling and monitoring white men.
That quote resurfaced in May 2025 – and JD Vance called it "genocidal language."
Omar never apologized.
She's since been removed from the House Foreign Affairs Committee, faced two separate censure resolutions – including one filed the day after Charlie Kirk's assassination – and heckled Trump at the State of the Union.
The Democratic Party kept her every time.
Carville's point isn't that Omar is wrong about one thing.
His point is that the party has allowed her to become the face of what Democrats actually believe – and that white men across America noticed.
Carville Has Been Saying This for Years and Democrats Ignored Him
This isn't the first time Carville has sounded the alarm.
In a March 2024 interview with New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd, he said the Democratic Party had become dominated by "too many preachy females" telling men what they can't eat, drink, or watch.
"If you listen to Democratic elites — NPR is my go-to place for that — the whole talk is about how women, and women of color, are going to decide this election," Carville told Dowd. "Well, 48% of the people that vote are males. Do you mind if they have some consideration?"
Democrats didn't listen.
AOC fired back on social media suggesting he start a podcast.
The party kept running the same playbook – scolding men, celebrating "the future is female," and treating anyone who pushed back as a relic.
Then November 2024 happened.
Democrats Are Already Losing the Men They Need
The 2024 numbers tell the story Carville is screaming about.
The share of men backing the Democratic ticket dropped 11 points in a single election cycle.
Hispanic men moved toward the GOP by 35 points.
That's not a messaging problem. That's a party that let Ilhan Omar become its face and then acted surprised when men walked out the door.
Here's what Carville understands that the Democrat Party still refuses to accept: male voters are being turned off by the woke women running the party.
They remember a Muslim congresswoman saying America should fear white men – and they remember that her party defended her and protected her every single time.
The Democratic Party didn't lose white male voters because of Donald Trump's magnetism or Joe Biden's age or Kamala Harris's laugh.
They lost them because they spent eight years signaling – loudly, proudly, and on camera – that those voters were the problem.
Carville is the only one in that party honest enough to say it.
The rest of them already know.
