The Founders built the Constitution to survive power-hungry politicians who lose elections.
Now two back-to-back Democrat losers are done pretending they respect it.
What they're now openly demanding would shred the documents tens of millions of Americans will celebrate on July 4.
Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris Both Want to Abolish the Electoral College
Hillary Clinton's moment arrived on a new Netflix docuseries called The American Experiment. Somebody handed her a microphone and asked about the 2016 election.
She didn't disappoint.
"Well, I personally think the Electoral College is an abomination," Clinton said. "For obvious reasons."
The obvious reason is that Donald Trump beat her with it.
Trump carried Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin by a combined margin of 80,000 votes in 2016 — three states that delivered him 46 electoral votes and the White House.
Clinton spent the decade since pointing fingers at Russia, Jim Comey, voter ID laws, and a lunar eclipse rather than her own campaign.
Now she's added the United States Constitution to her enemies list.
Kamala Harris joined the pile-on days earlier. Sitting across from Don Lemon – fired from CNN, now running a podcast with an audience of fellow grievance-collectors – Harris was asked about the Electoral College.
"I think we need to look at that too," Harris said. "Yes. Yes, I do."
Pressed for specifics, Harris delivered the word salad her supporters have come to expect. "I think that should be a discussion that we should have. I don't think we should eliminate that as a point of discussion for potential action."
Translation: she wants it gone but can’t string together a coherent sentence.
The Founding Fathers Built the Constitution to Prevent Exactly This
The Electoral College is not a quirk or a bug. Alexander Hamilton defended it in Federalist No. 68 as a safeguard against what he called "cabal, intrigue, and corruption."
James Madison warned in Federalist No. 10 that without structural protections, a majority faction could "sacrifice to its ruling passion or interest both the public good and the rights of other citizens."
The Founders built the Electoral College specifically to prevent New York and California from picking the president for Wyoming and Tennessee.
Heritage Foundation legal scholars have noted for years that the system forces candidates to build geographically diverse coalitions rather than running up margins in coastal population centers — a feature the Founders put there on purpose.
Without it, Democrats would simply need to win Los Angeles and New York City and declare themselves rulers of the country.
Kamala Harris Lost the Popular Vote Too in 2024 and Her Argument Still Collapses
Neither Clinton nor Harris wants to talk about what actually happened in 2024.
Harris didn't just lose the Electoral College in 2024. She lost the popular vote too – by more than two million votes. Trump won 312 electoral votes to her 226 and beat her by roughly one and a half percentage points nationwide.
There is no version of November 2024 where Kamala Harris wins.
Even during the Don Lemon interview, she accidentally admitted it – blaming the loss on what she called a failure by Democrats in government to actually meet the needs of the people. That's a politician confessing her own party failed, not an Electoral College problem.
Clinton's argument has always been built on a false premise – that she "really" won in 2016 because of the popular vote. But California and New York alone account for her entire popular vote margin. Strip those out, and Trump won the rest of the country going away.
The Electoral College worked exactly as designed.
Kamala Harris Is the 2028 Democrat Front-Runner and She Just Proved Nothing Has Changed
Normal parties absorb a loss like 2024 and ask hard questions. They find new voters. They move toward the center.
Instead, Harris sat down with Don Lemon and called for packing the Supreme Court with four new justices, blowing up Senate rules, and overhauling the Electoral College — a full doubling down on the extremism that 77 million voters just rejected.
Clinton followed her onto Netflix to call a central part of the Constitution an "abomination."
There is no acknowledgment that open borders, radical gender ideology, and prosecuting political opponents drove working-class Americans out of the coalition in every corner of the country.
Harris is currently the front-runner for the 2028 presidential nomination — and every Democrat strategist paying attention knows what that means.
The woman who just called for dismantling the Constitution's election architecture on a fired CNN host's podcast is the face of the party's future.
The voters gave Democrats their answer in November 2024 — across every demographic they assumed they owned.
Clinton and Harris just proved they weren't listening.
