The DNC released its 192-page postmortem on why Kamala Harris lost – and spent every page avoiding the answer.
Greg Gutfeld found it in about thirty seconds.
What he said on The Five is the one thing the party still refuses to face.
The DNC Autopsy Report Ken Martin Released and Then Disowned
The Democrat National Committee released its long-awaited 2024 election report, and DNC Chair Ken Martin disowned it before the ink dried.
"It wasn't ready for primetime – not even close," Martin wrote in a statement he attached to the document he was simultaneously releasing for "full transparency."
That sentence tells you everything.
The 192 pages cover rural voter outreach, Latino engagement strategy, Biden's age, Harris's truncated timeline, and Trump's unfavorable ratings that didn't materialize the way the campaign projected.
What it didn’t cover: pronouns, women's sports, bathrooms, inflation as a voting issue, or podcasts.
There is exactly one mention of "transgendered Americans" in the entire document.
The Trump campaign ran "Kamala is for they/them, President Trump is for you" more than 15,000 times – including during football games – and the DNC autopsy treats it as an image problem Harris couldn't navigate rather than a policy she owned.
The report's own conclusion: pollsters "felt the campaign was boxed – the ad was a video of her saying what she said." "If the Vice President would not change her position – and she did not – then there was nothing which would have worked as a response."
Greg Gutfeld on The Five Says DNC Autopsy Buried the Transgender Issue
On The Five, Greg Gutfeld cut through the autopsy in one observation.
"The ones that mattered were the cultural issues," he said. "They weren't brought up here, and they weren't mentioned, especially trans, because they haven't changed their positions on them. So you don't. If you're not gonna fix the problem, you sure as hell aren't gonna own up to it."
Then he went deeper – explaining why trans was never just a single issue.
"Because it diagnosed, and it exploited the fatal flaw of cultural relativism," Gutfeld said. "That's the unlocked door where any idea that is detached from truth could enter."
"It just so happened that it was trans, but it didn't have to be," he continued. "Trans women are women – that got in. But it could have been anything else. 60-year-olds are now 40. A morbidly obese person is now fit. Horses are people. Cantaloupes could have rights."
Once a party decides truth is whatever the mob demands, there is no floor.
Every position that follows – on crime, on biology, on economics, on the border – becomes negotiable against the same pressure.
Democrats spent a decade building a party that would rather compel agreement than defend a position, and voters in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin drew the obvious conclusion.
Kamala Harris They Them Ad Was Most Effective Attack of 2024 and Democrats Knew It
Gutfeld wasn't speculating.
Blueprint – a polling firm funded by LinkedIn founder Reid Hoffman and built specifically to help Democrats win – published its own post-election analysis in November 2024.
Among swing voters who broke for Trump, the trans ad outperformed inflation and immigration as an objection to Harris. The Blueprint data put it plainly: the ad ran more than 15,000 times and turned taxpayer-funded gender surgeries for prisoners into a bigger issue than the cost of groceries.
The Trump ad ran. The position was on tape. The party couldn't walk it back because the activists wouldn't allow it.
Rep. Tom Suozzi, a Democrat from New York, said after Election Day: "The Democrats have to stop pandering to the far Left. I don't think biological boys should be playing in girls' sports. Democrats aren't saying that, and they should be."
Democrats heard all of this, commissioned 192 pages in response, and produced a document with one mention of "transgendered Americans" and zero mentions of pronouns, women's sports, or bathrooms.
