Greg Gutfeld Exposed the Con Democrats Have Been Running Since Obama

Greg Gutfeld has been watching Democrats run the same electoral con for two decades.

On The Five a Michigan Senate primary gave him the clearest example yet.

What he said about the candidate favored to win that race is something the Democrat Party needs buried before August 4th.

Abdul El-Sayed and the DSA: Six Events He Needs You to Forget

Between 2017 and 2020, Michigan Democrat Senate Candidate Abdul El-Sayed attended and spoke at six events hosted by the Democratic Socialists of America.

He headlined a 2019 DSA fundraiser that raised $10,000 for the organization.

DSA organizers called him "a longtime friend of Detroit DSA." He was photographed grinning next to Rashida Tlaib behind a table featuring a poster of a hand labeled "DSA" choking a snake labeled "capitalism."

Then he started running statewide – and suddenly he is a capitalism guy.

"I'm not technically or practically DSA," El-Sayed told the Wall Street Journal. He told CNN the same thing. "I am not somebody who is a socialist. I believe in capitalism, I just believe that capitalism has to be regulated."

He wandered into the wrong room six times. The capitalism talk is for the cameras.

Bernie Sanders endorsed him the same day he launched his campaign – just as Sanders endorsed his failed 2018 gubernatorial bid. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez endorsed him.

Anti-American streamer Hasan Piker – who once said "America deserved 9/11" – campaigned with El-Sayed in April. The DSA has shifted organizers, volunteers, and resources into Michigan to help him win.

Greg Gutfeld Names the Democrat Socialist Con on The Five

On The Five, co-host Jessica Tarlov protested that she is not one of the "nutbags." Greg Gutfeld did not let it go.

"It's because you kind of innately know that leftism is loony and out of step with mainstream thinking that you have to go, yeah, I'm a little nutty, but I'm not that nutty," Gutfeld said.

One sentence. The entire Democrat electoral strategy.

Barack Obama ran it in 2008 – promising unity and moderation, then pushing the country further left than any president in a generation.

Biden ran the same play in 2020, marketing himself as a moderate who rejected the push to defund police and promised to hold the Left flank in check. What followed was the most radical policy agenda since the Great Society.

El-Sayed is next in line.

Democratic Socialists of America Say What El-Sayed Will Not

Gutfeld gave the DSA credit for one thing El-Sayed cannot manage: honesty.

"Right now, what I find is that the DSA is saying exactly what they are to everyone, and they may be the most honest leftists about what they want," Gutfeld said. "They're saying what they want to take over, they're saying what they want to tax, they're saying what they want to ban."

The DSA co-chair went on Fox News and stated the group's agenda without hesitation. DSA-backed candidates won primaries in New York and Colorado this cycle flying the socialist flag openly.

At El-Sayed's 2019 fundraiser, the poster on the table was a hand choking a snake labeled "capitalism." The DSA put those photos out themselves.

The only person hiding is El-Sayed.

Gutfeld took it further. "It reveals an essential truth about socialism, and I would say the slower socialism called Democrats, is that it's all top-down social engineering," he said. "And it cannot exist unless you enforce it aggressively, which means it is antithetical to human nature. If this stuff was so innate, why do you have to force it down our throats?"

If El-Sayed's politics are as moderate as he insists, he would not need a carefully lawyered answer about what "technically" counts as DSA. He would just say what he believes.

He does not. Because this is what the Democrat Party does every single election cycle to win.

Party insiders have spent weeks trying to clear a path for El-Sayed's establishment opponent, Rep. Haley Stevens. Retiring Sen. Gary Peters broke his neutrality to back Stevens directly. They know what El-Sayed's DSA baggage does to a general election in a state Republicans are already targeting hard.

The primary is August 4th. El-Sayed is favored to win – and a nominee this close to the DSA hands Republicans a Senate seat the Democrats cannot afford to lose.

Gutfeld named the con. Now voters get to decide if Michigan falls for it again.
