Tea Party Patriots Built a Grassroots Election Integrity Army for the Midterms

Senate Democrats killed the SAVE America Act – the bill that would have required proof of citizenship to vote.

Grassroots conservatives took one look at that vote and got to work.

What they built over the next six months is something Democrats are not ready for.

America's Largest Election Integrity Army Is Flooding 2026 Battleground States

Tea Party Patriots Action has been training poll watchers for over a decade, and the 2026 midterms are about to feel every bit of that investment.

Jenny Beth Martin, the group's chairman, kicked off the 2026 relaunch in early September with a direct answer to every conservative who watched the Senate filibuster go down.

"This is why Tea Party Patriots Action recruited and trained over 35,000 poll watchers and poll workers during the 2022 and 2024 election cycles, and we are continuing this initiative for the 2026 cycle," Martin told the Washington Examiner.

The group launched its first 2026 in-person training event on August 28 in Georgia, partnering with the Honest Elections Project.

The next stop is Nevada on September 11 – right after the Republican National Committee's midterm convention in Dallas wraps up.

Arizona, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin follow.

These are not random states.

These are the exact battlegrounds that decided the last two presidential elections.

Eight Thousand Poll Watchers Recruited and More Volunteering Every Hour

Tea Party Patriots Action launched HelpAtThePolls.com to accelerate 2026 recruitment – and the response was immediate.

The group has already brought in more than 8,000 poll watchers and poll workers.

More than 1,000 of those volunteers signed up in a single 24-hour window.

Martin expects in-person training sessions to reach between 800 and 1,000 participants, with online recruitment pushing the total as high as 8,000.

Groups joining the effort include the Honest Elections Project, Save Our States, Turning Point Action, American Majority, Heritage Action, and the American Constitutional Rights Union.

"We want to make sure that Americans trust the outcome of the elections," Martin said, "and one of the best ways to do that is to have people who are in the room who can come back out and be witnesses to what they saw."

The RNC is running parallel operations – hotlines in 22 target states and nearly 180 active election integrity cases across 37 states.

Republican National Committee Chairman Joe Gruters told Fox News Digital the party has more poll workers deployed for 2026 than it did for 2024.

"We're better prepared," Gruters said. "We are on the ground, ready to do battle."

Former pardon attorney Ed Martin left the Trump administration to lead Republican legal operations specifically for the 2026 and 2028 cycles.

Democrats, for their part, are building their own operation – including a brand-new in-house DNC litigation unit led by former Justice Department attorney Dan Freeman.

The DNC claims voter protection staff in more than 30 states, but declined to share 2026 volunteer numbers with Fox News Digital.

That silence says more than any press release.

Senate Democrats Blocked the SAVE America Act and Conservatives Built Something Bigger

The SAVE America Act passed the House in February 2026 by a 218-213 vote.

It required proof of citizenship to register to vote and a photo ID at the polls.

Seventy-one percent of Americans supported it.

Senate Democrats filibustered it anyway.

Majority Leader John Thune acknowledged publicly that the votes to break the filibuster do not exist.

By June, four Senate Republicans – Lisa Murkowski, Susan Collins, Mitch McConnell, and Thom Tillis – had joined Democrats to sink the bill entirely.

Martin said the Senate's failure to pass the SAVE America Act made the poll watcher push more urgent, not less.

"People across the country, especially with our base, are upset that the SAVE America Act did not get passed into law," she said. "We're trying to make sure that people understand, even though that didn't get passed into law yet, there are other ways we can work to help secure the election."

Senate Democrats blocked the one tool that would have secured the ballot box at the front end.

So conservatives are securing it at the back end – with 35,000 trained volunteers already in the field and 1,000 more signing up every day.

Senate Democrats made sure it will be decided the old-fashioned way – with real witnesses in every room that matters.
