The media has been a disgraceful failure during the Trump era.
Self-proclaimed “journalists” continue to expose themselves as political hacks.
And George Stephanopoulos wants to go into hiding after Megyn Kelly carpet bombed his soul with this epic beatdown.
Kelly goes scorched on ABC News for settlement in Trump defamation case
ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos pretends to be a journalist on TV.
He previously served as a “fixer” for former President Bill Clinton, discrediting the many women who accused his boss of sexual misconduct.
Stephanopoulos let his Democrat operative side show during a segment on ABC’s This Week that President-elect Donald Trump was “found liable for rape” in the frivolous E. Jean Carroll lawsuit.
Trump sued ABC News and Stephanopoulos for defamation for this lie.
The case was settled out of court with ABC News being required to make a $15 million donation to Trump’s future Presidential library or a foundation.
Megyn Kelly slammed Stephanopoulos for being a political hack on her SiriusXM show.
“You never see these media organizations held to account for their vile lies they tell about Donald Trump,” Kelly began. “It’s rare to see it happen at all. But this was just so egregious, and they did it over and over and over again at ABC News.”
Kelly accused ABC News of giving Stephanopoulos the green light to tell a vicious lie about Trump.
“They didn’t care. They clearly enjoyed saying what George Stephanopoulos said,” Kelly continued. “It made them feel good about themselves. This is George Stephanopoulos’… I’ll just leave the dirty teen joke there that that’s how he feels about saying nasty things about Trump. And finally, it came back to bite him.”
Stephanopoulos confirmed to the world that he’s a hack
Kelly noted that ABC News settled the case rather than move into the discovery phase where internal communications between Stephanopoulos and the network could be exposed.
“You’re idiots. Stephanopoulos is an idiot, and so are his producers, because let me tell you, in all my years at Fox – never mind, my short stint at NBC — the producers have a couple of jobs,” Kelly explained. “One is to arm the anchor with facts… Fail. Okay, fail there!”
ABC News’ producers should have stopped Stephanopoulos from lying.
“Two is to protect the anchor. You protect the anchor,” Kelly added. “And so if the anchor is out there saying something colossally stupid, usually, if you have a great producer, they’ll get in your ear to say, ‘No, it’s this. No, it’s that. Be careful.’ That happens with me all the time on this show.”
Stephanopoulos tried to get away with a partisan hit job that matched Democrats’ messaging on Trump on ABC.
“He’s a partisan hack. He started off as a partisan hack, and he remains one,” Kelly stated. “He’s just too ball-less to own his partisan nature and [he] wants us to believe that he’s straight and narrow now, notwithstanding all those years helping Bill Clinton.”
Stephanopoulos falsely called Trump a rapist during a segment with Representative Nancy Mace (R-SC), who is a rape survivor.
“The irony of him going after a rape supporter in that way… after his years running the War Room tearing down Bill Clinton’s sexual assault accusers. It’s just rich,” Kelly exclaimed. “So now the whole thing has cost him his reputation and his company $15 million.”
George Stephanopoulos is one of the many Democrat operatives masquerading as journalists in the media.
