Anthony Fauci locked down America and called anyone who questioned him a danger to public health.
Now Rand Paul has his private diary.
What Fauci asked for from Barack Obama was never supposed to be read.
How Fauci Used Taxpayer Money to Fund Beagle Experiments He Claimed He Knew Nothing About
In October 2021, White Coat Waste blew the roof off Washington with documents showing Fauci's NIAID had funneled $375,800 to a Tunisia lab where beagles were locked into mesh cages while starved sand flies – infected with flesh-eating parasites – fed on the living dogs for nine consecutive nights.
That was not the worst of it.
Separate NIAID-funded studies included beagles given experimental drugs and intentionally infested with parasite-carrying flies, causing them to vocalize in pain for months before being killed.
In dozens of other labs, beagle puppies had their vocal cords surgically removed to silence them before being used to test pharmaceuticals.
The public erupted.
Fauci's diary entry from October 25 shows he had no idea what was actually funded in his name – writing that he was "asking the staff to investigate that now."
He immediately reached for media cover, noting a "wonderful article by Dana Milbank in the Washington Post" defending him.
Obama Secretly Mobilized the Biden White House After Fauci Allies Called for Help
In his 2024 memoir, Fauci described the Obama call as a warm personal check-in from a concerned friend.
His diary says something else entirely.
The November 4 entry – page 914 – records that Leslie Dach had already contacted Obama and asked him to mobilize help against White Coat Waste.
Obama's opening to Fauci mirrored the memoir version word for word, but what came next never made it into the book.
Fauci wrote that Obama said he would contact Ron Klain and Jeff Zients and instruct the Biden administration to go on offense – not just express support, but actively counter and "call out" people who weren't defending Fauci loudly enough.
Obama called Donald Trump Jr. a vulgarity, called President Trump "a hopeless idiot who was a pathologic liar," and closed a 25-minute call by promising to report back if there was "movement in this direction."
Obama had just agreed to run point on a political operation targeting a taxpayer watchdog organization.
How Obama Fixer Eric Schultz Helped Weaponize the Washington Post Against Fauci Critics
Six days after Obama's call, Fauci logged a Zoom meeting with Eric Schultz – Obama's former principal deputy press secretary and one of the Democrat Party's most experienced damage-control operatives.
Schultz told Fauci the path forward was to expose the organizations driving the story – once exposed, they would be "reluctant to continue."
The target was White Coat Waste.
Washington Post reporter Yasmeen Abutaleb had already told Fauci she wanted to use the Post's investigative resources to trace whether the Republican Party or allied organizations were bankrolling the campaign against him.
Fauci routed those communications through his personal Gmail account – keeping them off federal servers and outside FOIA reach – then told Congress under oath he had never conducted official business through private email.
White Coat Waste's own FOIA requests turned up the NIH emails proving the Gmail arrangement existed.
On November 19, Fauci wrote that Abutaleb's piece in the Washington Post had debunked White Coat Waste's findings "in an incredibly efficient manner."
He noted the print version ran on the Sunday front page and recorded a "very gratifying public response."
The operation had worked.
Fauci Lied to Congress About COVID and Gain of Function and Rand Paul Has Him Under Oath This Morning
Rand Paul released 1,141 pages of Fauci's diary on July 25, ahead of Fauci's subpoenaed Senate testimony..
The Beaglegate entries sit alongside other diary revelations – Fauci privately recording COVID's fatality rate at 0.2–0.3% while testifying to Congress it was ten times the flu, and acknowledging in early 2020 that ten of twelve scientists on his call believed the lab leak theory was credible.
Fauci's pattern was identical every time: deny publicly, document privately, and deploy allies against anyone who noticed the difference.
The Obama-Schultz operation against White Coat Waste ran on the same machine that buried the lab leak, protected the gain-of-function denials, and kept the Washington Post pointed at Fauci's critics instead of Fauci.
White Coat Waste Senior VP Justin Goodman summed it up in a statement: the Washington establishment "circled the wagons to defend Fauci over his funding of deadly dog labs."
They had the former president of the United States making the calls.
