All three won.

Darializa Avila Chevalier – a 32-year-old community organizer with zero elected experience – defeated five-term Rep. Adriano Espaillat, chairman of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus.
State Assembly member Claire Valdez won the open seat race in the 7th District, beating Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso despite former Rep. Nydia Velázquez endorsing against her.
Jeffries backed Goldman and Espaillat directly. He hinted at Reynoso.

How the DSA Primary Wins Put Hakeem Jeffries on the Wrong Side of His Own Party
Jeffries is trying to win back the House majority in November.

What he has instead is a freshmen bloc that refuses to back his leadership – powered by Mamdani's organizing machine and answering to nobody in Washington.
Axios reported earlier this year that more than 80 Democrat House candidates either refused to commit to Jeffries' leadership or actively opposed him.
That was before Tuesday night.
A senior House Democrat, asked whether colleagues were worried about the results, gave a three-word answer: "Yes they are."
One House Democrat told Axios there was "lots of silence" in the Congressional Hispanic Caucus text chat after Espaillat's loss.
Rep. Tom Suozzi – co-chair of the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus – didn't soften the diagnosis.
"People who do not support the DSA wring their hands at cocktail parties, while the DSA is organizing," he told Axios.
He's right.
Mamdani converted his 2025 mayoral campaign into a congressional organizing machine with 225 Democratic Socialists of America chapters, more than 100,000 dues-paying members, and a stranglehold on New York City Democrat politics.
