John Fetterman has watched the radical Left swallow the Democrat Party and said so out loud.
That takeover is being cemented.
Now one of their top campaign surrogates just declared America worse than the terrorists who carried it out.
Hasan Piker Said America Is Worse Than Al Qaeda and Democrats Kept Campaigning With Him
Hasan Piker is a Twitch streamer with millions of followers, and he helped elect the Democrat Senate nominee in Michigan.
He once said America "deserved 9/11." This September, Axios asked him to be more specific.
When reporter Alex Thompson asked Piker directly whether America is worse than al-Qaeda, Piker answered: "Pound for pound as far as the number of deaths, yes."
He added: "We have caused tremendous terror all around the world."
Michigan Democrat Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed flew Piker in for campaign events, spent the night before his primary at a Detroit pool party with him, and booked him on Michigan college campuses to "re-energize" young voters ahead of November.
El-Sayed won the primary, and now the Democrat Party is stuck explaining why their Senate nominee spent the campaign stumping alongside a man who blames America for its own worst terrorist attack.
When Fox News Digital caught El-Sayed walking into the Democrat Senatorial Campaign Committee headquarters in Washington, he dodged every question about Piker.
His campaign released a statement calling Piker "a social media streamer" whose words he doesn't "give much weight" to.
El-Sayed was at a pool party with that "social media streamer" the night before his primary.
Fetterman Told Fox News He Lost to Hasan Piker and the Democrat Base Loves It
In August, Fetterman went on Hannity and issued a direct challenge to El-Sayed: "Continue to campaign with Hasan Piker right now. You're in a general election now, I dare you, I dare you."
El-Sayed kept doing it – and this week, Fetterman stopped fighting.
"He is an individual that just declared that we are worse than al Qaeda and Democrats are campaigning with him, defending him!" Fetterman said.
"And my – and our base loves him," Fetterman said. "I can't compete with that."
A sitting U.S. senator just admitted his own party loves a man who called America worse than the group that murdered nearly 3,000 people on a Tuesday morning in September 2001.
Fetterman called Piker the base and didn't soften it.
Republican nominee Mike Rogers saw the opening immediately.
"Conman Abdul El-Sayed's running mate Hasan Piker just said that America is worse than al-Qaeda," Rogers posted on X. "Abdul – enough is enough. Condemn Piker once and for all."
El-Sayed has not.
The 2026 Michigan Senate Race Just Became a Referendum on What Democrats Actually Stand For
Piker didn't wander into Democrat politics by accident.
He championed New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani – the avowed socialist who swept the 2025 Democrat primaries with full backing from the Democratic Socialists of America – and praised Mao Zedong as "one of the great leaders of this world."
Heritage Action: "He's not an outlier. He's a reflection of what the modern Democrat Party has become and who it chooses to elevate."
In 2008, Barack Obama eventually threw Jeremiah Wright overboard after Wright's "God damn America" sermons turned toxic enough to threaten a presidential campaign.
Today's Democrats aren't throwing anyone overboard.
They're buying Piker a plane ticket and booking him on the college circuit.
Fetterman's reward for saying so out loud is an almost certain 2028 Democrat primary challenge – punishment from the left for refusing to pretend the party is something it no longer is.
With five weeks until Election Day, Michigan's Senate seat – one Republicans need to flip to cement their majority – is in play because Democrats nominated a candidate who cannot answer a single question about his most visible surrogate.
Democrats built this problem themselves.
