Zohran Mamdani became New York City's socialist mayor and the Democrat Party handed him the keys.
Now a card-carrying DSA member just won Florida's Democrat Senate primary by 12 points .
And Katie Britt just said the thing every American already knows but nobody in the Democrat Party will admit.
Angie Nixon Won the Florida Senate Primary Spending $975000 Against a $16 Million Favorite
Florida state Rep. Angie Nixon defeated Alex Vindman in the state's Democrat Senate primary on August 19 – the same Vindman who spent years as the face of the Trump impeachment crusade and raised $16.3 million doing it.
Nixon raised $975,000 and won by 12 points anyway.
She is a member of the Democratic Socialists of America. The organization's national platform calls for getting rid of ICE, prisons, and police – nationalizing major corporations and eliminating the United States Senate itself.
Now, a card carrying DSA member is the Democrat Party's nominee for the United States Senate.
Senator Katie Britt joined Sean Hannity on Fox News alongside Senator Tom Cotton of Arkansas and said what the country already knew.
"The Democratic Socialists of America are not the fringe anymore, Sean, of the Democratic Party," Britt said. "They have taken over the Democratic Party. Look, America has to wake up."
Angie Nixon Is Already Running From the DSA Platform That Won Her the Florida Senate Primary
Nixon has spent the days since her primary win trying to convince Florida voters she is not, in fact, a socialist.
She joined the DSA in June and campaigned in a church quoting Assata Shakur – a Marxist cop killer who appeared on the FBI's most wanted terrorists list. On a podcast, she called drag shows "wholesome entertainment" suitable for children and confirmed she had taken her own children to them.
Her platform includes abolishing ICE, a pathway to citizenship for illegal aliens, and what she calls "demilitarizing" law enforcement.
That 12-point margin tells the whole story. Vindman entered the race with the full backing of the Democrat establishment, nearly 17-to-1 in fundraising, and every pundit in Florida calling him the frontrunner. None of it was enough. Florida Democrats chose the DSA candidate anyway.
Days after the primary, Nixon told NBC News she is "not a socialist" – this from a woman who owns a bookstore called Cafe Resistance. She clarified that she only wants to close privately-owned prisons, not all of them.
Britt wasn't buying it. "We don't have to ask them," she told Hannity. "We need to believe what they're saying."
DSA Primary Wins Across New York Michigan and Florida Show the 2026 Midterm Socialist Takeover Is Real
The DSA had 6,000 members when Bernie Sanders ran for president in 2016. It has over 100,000 today.
Mamdani – who ran on abolishing the NYPD, canceling rent, and turning New York City into a sanctuary for illegal aliens – now governs the largest city in America. Michigan just handed its Democrat Senate nomination to Abdul El-Sayed.
Tom Cotton's own opponent in Arkansas announced plans to fly to Peru to march in a transgender parade. Across the country, more than 35 DSA-backed candidates won primaries heading into November.
This is not a movement operating at the edges. The DSA's national platform calls for amnesty for every illegal alien in the country, government control of major corporations, a nationwide rent freeze, reparations, and the elimination of the United States Senate.
Democrats just handed their Florida Senate slot to a nominee who belongs to an organization that wants to eliminate the very body she's running for.
Britt wasn't finished. "They hate America," she said – pointing to DSA members who have publicly declared they want to use the American flag as a napkin. "It's pretty disgusting."
"The days of your grandfather's Democratic Party," Britt added, "they're over."
The party that once stood against Soviet communism now runs DSA members for Senate in Florida – a state with hundreds of thousands of Cuban Americans, Venezuelan exiles, and Nicaraguan immigrants who watched the exact ideology Nixon's party just embraced collapse entire countries.
Those voters do not need a senator to explain what comes next.
"They are wrong on the policies and they're wrong on their priorities," Britt said. "This is not only bad for the Democratic Party, it's bad for America."
Republicans have been sounding that alarm for a generation. What Britt and Cotton delivered on Hannity was not a warning.
It was a verdict.
