The problems are piling up for Gavin Newsom with no end in sight.
He’s facing a revolt in the most unlikely of places.
And a James Bond star made one confession that was bad news for Gavin Newsom.
Actor star slams California’s Democrat leadership
Celebrities have turned on California Governor Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass over their handling of the Los Angeles wildfires.
The wildfires put the spotlight on the utter incompetence of Democrat politicians in the state.
Actor Robert Davi is one the most outspoken conservatives in Hollywood.
The Licence to Kill star said that he left California after living in the state for nearly 50 years because of its Democrat government during an appearance on the Fox Business show The Evening Edit.
Davi said that California failed to do enough to prevent wildfires like building reservoirs and clearing brush.
He noted that former California Governor Pete Wilson (R) pushed a bill in 1990 to build reservoirs to collect rainwater but Democrats in the State Legislature “killed it.”
“I think President Trump should do a national referendum on that,” Davi said. “He should meet with maybe [Arnold] Schwarzenegger, who understood the environmental issues, and not pretend he understood them as Newsom does for photo ops.”
Davi said the state should complete Wilson’s plan to build more reservoirs.
California’s government lives to create new problems for residents
The actor said that California had strict water use policies but ran out of them when Los Angeles needed them most.
“That is the frustration in the Left. They don’t solve problems,” Davi explained. “They create problems. When I was in California, as I said, 46 years, we left three years ago. You had to have, as President Trump said, 38 gallons. That wasn’t just in Beverly Hills, that was in a lot of parts of California.”
President Donald Trump slammed Beverly Hills for restricting residents to 38 gallons of water a day during a trip to California to inspect the damage from the wildfires.
“You couldn’t water your lawns,” Davi stated. “You couldn’t do certain kinds of irrigation because they were conserving. I think there should be conditions, absolutely, when you have a political body, as in California, that are basically run by the Democrats, that are not really taking care of this, that state, that beautiful state at one time, and have done policies in terms of crime, in terms of the environment.”
Davi backed the idea of putting conditions on any federal disaster relief bill for California.
“The Hollywood community, I have to go back at that because they’re so vocal on everything, except this. It’s quiet,” Davi said. “I still haven’t heard a soundbite from Jimmy Kimmel or Stephen Colbert or any of the Hollywood elites talking about [how] Gavin Newsom has to be held accountable for what happened in California.”
The actor argued that it was incumbent upon Hollywood to speak up about Democrats’ failures.
“And until they start stepping up and saying the truth to the people of California, so they understand what the issues are, and I think there should be conditions, absolutely,” Davi added.
California has been transformed into a socialist nightmare under unchecked Democrat rule.
