Donald Trump is accustomed to Democrats and their media allies’ constant barrage of attacks.

But one move on the campaign trail earned him surprising kudos.

And a former Clinton advisor praised Donald Trump for one reason no one saw coming.

Donald Trump battles with hostile journalists at conference

While most politicians – regardless of party – wouldn’t dare venture, former President Donald Trump is willing to go into hostile territory.

He traveled to the National Association of Black Journalists conference in Chicago, Illinois.

Most of the people gathered at the event were Democrat activists masquerading as self-proclaimed “journalists.”

ABC News’ Rachel Scott was one of the moderators who interviewed Trump at the conference.

She laid her cards down on the table right off the bat.

Scott led by noting that Trump allegedly called some members of Congress nasty names, questioned whether former President Barack Obama was born in the United States, and ran through a laundry list of things he did that she considered offensive.

“Now that you are asking black voters to vote for you, why should black voters trust you after you’ve used language like that?” Scott asked.

“I don’t think I’ve ever been asked a question in such a horrible manner, a first question,” Trump fired back. “You don’t even say ‘hello, how are you.’ Are you with ABC? Because I think they’re a fake news network.”

The nearly half-hour-long interview was called “racist” and a disaster by Democrats’ media allies.

But they notably played clips of most of the event.

A Clinton advisor says Trump did a good job at black journalist event

Former Hillary Clinton 2008 campaign adviser Jehmu Greene had a different reaction to Trump’s appearance at the National Association of Black Journalists event.

She said that Trump appeared “strong” and “disciplined” during an appearance on NewsNation.

“I think you nailed it on the head when you talked about Donald Trump and his intentions with going to the National Association of Black Journalists yesterday,” Greene stated. “He changed that conversation, he comes across as being strong, and unfortunately a lot of my friends and colleagues on the left fell for it hook, line, and sinker, as well as the media.”

“What do you think the reaction would be if a white journalist was that aggressive with Kamala Harris?” NewsNation host Leland Vittert asked.

Greene claimed that Trump doesn’t like dealing with strong women before praising him.

“He doesn’t like to interact with women who are not going to just sit and listen to what he has to say, and I think he was very, very intentional in going into what has been said, ‘the belly of the beast,’ so that he could come across as being strong, he could come across as actually being attacked by these Black women as he is running against a Black, south Asian woman, and that was very intentional,” Greene said.

She said that Trump’s campaign will be able to use that interview to his advantage.

“I don’t usually go around complimenting former President Donald Trump, but he was disciplined in his message,” Greene explained. “He wanted to go in there, come across as pushing back against these very mean Black women, his probable definition, and then his campaign will be able to, in this age of digital prowess, he’s going to cut up that interview.”

Donald Trump is savvier than his enemies give him credit for.
