Biden flew his EPA regulators to a United Nations climate conference in Dubai to announce rules strangling American energy.
The Trump EPA just killed every word of it.
What the Trump EPA unlocked alongside that $45 billion is something Democrats spent four years trying to bury.
Biden's Methane Rule Was Born in Dubai While Americans Paid the Price
The Biden methane rule was not born in Washington.
It was born at a UN climate summit in the United Arab Emirates in 2023, where Biden's EPA officials stood before foreign diplomats and announced regulations that would cost American oil and gas producers $18 billion.
Not a single American voter was in that room.
The rule targeted existing wells for the first time in EPA history – going further than anything Obama attempted – and buried producers under monitoring requirements, repair mandates, and a "super emitter" program that let outside groups report suspected leaks using remote sensing.
Biden's team called it historic.
The Trump EPA this week called it what it actually was.
"The 2024 Rule is unworkable and is holding back American energy dominance," EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin said in the official announcement, adding that the Biden rule imposed its $18 billion price tag "without providing the environmental benefits promised."
Biden spent $18 billion of the industry's money and delivered none of the environmental results he promised.
Trump terminated it at a rally in Texas Tuesday: $45 billion in regulatory savings, 210 million additional barrels of oil, and 1.41 trillion cubic feet of natural gas freed up between now and 2050.
"This is a big deal," Zeldin told Newsmax. "$45 billion in regulatory savings, unleashing a tremendous amount of U.S. oil production and natural gas production."
Blue State Electricity Bills Are 37 Percent Higher and Democrats Will Not Explain Why
Zeldin did not stop at the methane rule on Newsmax.
"Where you see the largest increases in energy costs, they're in the blue states," he said. "This is no coincidence."
The numbers back him up.
A joint report from the Institute for Energy Research and Always On Energy Research found that twelve of the fifteen states with the highest electricity bills in America are blue, and only one is red.
Twenty of the twenty-five states with the lowest electricity prices are reliably red.
New York's electricity prices run 58 percent above the national average and 62 percent above Florida's.
Blue states pay 37 percent more for electricity than red states – four decades of Democrat energy policy landing on your bill every single month.
"If you regulate this stuff out of existence, the Americans who need the help the most – they're the ones who suffer the most," Zeldin said.
The people Democrats claim to fight for are the ones getting crushed by the policies Democrats keep imposing.
Every Time Democrats Win Your Energy Costs Go Up
Obama wrote the original methane rules, Trump killed them in 2020, and Biden reinstated them in 2021 – then piled the Dubai rule on top, going further than any Democrat had tried before.
Democrat administrations reimpose the costs and Republican administrations remove them.
Trump is running that argument into the November 3 midterms.
He has made three trips to Texas this month alone, rallying behind Senate candidate Ken Paxton and closing on energy affordability as his final message to voters.
It is working because the bills are real.
Your neighbors in New York and California are not paying that much more than the rest of the country because of bad luck or geography.
They are paying it because their governors chose it.
Zeldin told Newsmax that Biden's approach forced a false choice between protecting the environment and growing the economy.
"We can and must do both," he said. "The American public demand it, and they demand common sense when doing it."
Forty-five billion dollars says they finally have a team that delivers it.
