Donald Trump’s plan to deport illegal aliens is underway
The first phase of President Donald Trump’s plan for the mass deportation of illegal aliens kicked off shortly after he took the Oath of Office.
He tapped Tom Homan to serve as his “Border Czar” and lead the deportation effort.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents began conducting raids to find illegal aliens.
Homan told Fox News that the top priority was targeting threats to public safety.
“ICE teams are out there as of today,” Homan said. “We gave them the direction to prioritize public safety threats. That’s what we’re looking for. We’ve been working with a target list.”
The plan was for ICE to launch a raid in Chicago to apprehend 300 violent criminals but details of the plan were leaked to the Washington Post.
Homan said that the Trump administration had to pivot its strategy over “officers’ safety concerns.”
“ICE officers throughout the country were told today, ‘Go make arrests of those here illegally that have a public safety threat.’ So they’ve developed target sheets, an operational plan to go out in the field,” Homan explained. “So they’re out there right now looking for the most serious public safety threats throughout the country.”
ICE has a target-rich environment
Homan noted there are more than 700,000 illegal aliens with criminal records roaming the streets.
“That’s who we’re looking for right now,” Homan stated.
ICE agents apprehended 308 illegal aliens on Trump’s first full day in office during a nationwide effort.
A Trump administration official said felons were picked up in Boston, Denver, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Seattle, Washington, D.C., and Miami.
U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-AL) praised Trump for delivering on his promise to crack down on illegal immigration.
“The Trump Administration’s first full day of ICE enforcement was larger than any day in four years of the Biden Administration,” Britt wrote on X. “Promises made, promises kept.”
Some of the illegal aliens had been convicted of the most heinous crimes imaginable.
“These arrests were nationwide in every area of interest and included several murderers, rapists, sex offenders, and kidnappers,” Britt added. “ICE also went to jails and ordered almost 300 additional aliens to be released to ICE custody rather than our nation’s streets. Common sense is back.”
Homan was proud of the effort by ICE after the handcuffs were taken off after four years under former President Joe Biden.
“Some of them were rapists. Some of them raped a child,” Homan said. “ICE is performing excellent right now out in the field, and they’re going to continue every day.”
He warned that if sanctuary cities wouldn’t cooperate with ICE about illegal aliens being held in jail agents would have to go out into communities to apprehend them after they’re released.
The Trump administration is off the races on their plan to round up and deport illegal aliens.
