Radical left-wing socialists have completely lost all touch with reality.

As such, these radical left-wing coffee shop workers demanded a union.

But they ended up just shooting themselves in the foot.

Protesting their own bad decisions

Just one short week after leftist employees of a Philadelphia coffee shop decided to unionize, all three of the shop’s locations closed down.

And then the employees staged a protest against the coffee shop shutting down, even though the closures were a direct result of their radical left-wing attempt to unionize.

But the facts didn’t stop more than 30 former employees of the OCF Coffee House shops from turning out in force outside one of the newly shuttered locations.

Some of the former employees told WPVI-TV the abrupt closures were due to the former employees’ announcement a week earlier that they intended to unionize and join Workers United Local 80.

“We wanted better pay and stability and part-time health benefits, not only full-time,” former employee Stephanie Slaughter told WPVI.

Video clips showed the out-of-work former baristas holding signs and chanting on the sidewalk.

According to WPVI, the object of their anger was coffee shop owner Ori Feibush.

“Ori, Ori, you can’t hide! We all see your greedy side!” one of the chants rang out.

On the afternoon of June 10, employees got an email announcing that all three shops were closed effective immediately, WPVI reported.

This came just one week after the radical left-wing agitators announced they would be forcibly unionizing the shops.

Feibush, in a letter to both employees and customers, said a combination of increasing costs and decreasing sales forced his decision to close down after 13 years in business.

He also pointed out that increased administrative and legal costs in connection with the unionization effort added to his need to close his doors.

“Instead of protesting the closure, they should be job searching”

Former employee Ava Alabiso told WPVI, “Very, very disheartening. We didn’t even get to start the bargaining process. Didn’t even know what we were asking for before he decided to shut down all three stores, leaving us completely in the lurch through an email.”

An OCF Coffee House spokesperson told WPVI that it will continue to provide health, vision, and dental benefits to employees for the next three months.

But that’s not good enough for some of the radical former employees, who are also pushing for severance pay as well.

Unfortunately for the left-wing union organizers, they aren’t receiving much support on social media.

In fact, a number of observers on X haven’t shown much sympathy for the former employees and left-wing union organizers.

“Instead of protesting the closure, they should be job searching,” one commenter posted.

Another user pointed out an inconvenient truth for the union organizers, “Unionizing a job you can train high school students to do in a week is always a bad idea.”

And the decision to protest the coffee shop’s closure drew special wrath on social media.

“I don’t understand … protesting a store closure? What are they expecting to accomplish with this? Hoping for the owners to change their minds and go broke paying your new wages?” one commenter asked in a post.

Once again, greedy union bosses have joined with left-wing activists to destroy yet another business in this already suffering Biden economy.
