Taylor Swift recently endorsed Kamala Harris for President.

That caused many “experts” to celebrate all of the younger voters who will supposedly now vote because she told them to.

But Taylor Swift’s endorsement of Kamala Harris has led to a major plot twist that has Democrats flipping their lids.

A new poll shows Swift support backfired

A new YouGov poll surveying 1,120 potential voters found that a whopping 66% said Taylor Swift’s endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris made no difference in who they would vote for.

The same poll found that just 8% of voters would be “somewhat” or “much more likely” to vote for Kamala thanks to the endorsement.

A full 20% said they are now “somewhat” or “much more likely” to vote for Donald Trump for president in the same poll.

The poll took place between September 11-12, with a ± 3.8% margin of error.

As Swift endorsed Kamala, she also encouraged her fans to do their own research, and it looks like most voters have already done just that.

The pop star also noted that “the choice is yours to make” when announcing her endorsement via social media.

Meanwhile, controversy continues to surround the singer and her close friend Brittany Mahomes, wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Mahomes has allegedly shown her support for former President Donald Trump, leading many “Swifties” to denounce the friendship between the two.

Brittany’s husband, Patrick, is making the smart business move of taking a more careful, neutral approach to the upcoming election.

He recently said if “people can come together and achieve a common goal. . .  as a nation, I think we can get the best out of each other.”

The NFL star also said he doesn’t “think about political views” when he hangs out with other people, but instead focuses on “how they treat people.”

Although it appears that the endorsement didn’t change much, some reports have found that Swift’s post led to over 400,000 people registering to vote on the vote.gov website.

Before the endorsement, vote.gov received around 30,000 visitors per day.

Democrats are using Swift to their advantage

Democrats are over the moon about the support they’ve received from Swift.

The party put billboards up in Las Vegas and New York City that say, “We’re in Our Kamala Era,” a verbal twist on the singer’s massively popular Eras Tour.

Last week, Patrick Mahomes said he won’t endorse either candidate for President, despite his wife liking several pro-Trump posts on Instagram and other social media platforms.

He stated he does not want his “platform” to be used as a means to “endorse a candidate – either way.”

However, Mahomes did say he would encourage Americans to get “registered [to vote], do their research, and make their best decision for them and their family.”

The NFL star also said he would refer back to that sentiment every time he is asked these types of questions, “because I think that’s what makes America so great.”
