Taylor Swift was panic-stricken when this out-of-control concert crowd caused this seismic event

There is no denying that Taylor Swift is the biggest pop star on earth.

That status brings with it plenty of chaos, though.

And now Taylor Swift was panic-stricken when this out-of-control concert crowd caused this seismic event.

An earth-shaking event — literally

Taylor Swift took her Eras Tour to Edinburgh, Scotland recently.

And to say things got wild is an epic understatement.

That’s because Swift’s concert literally caused seismic activity similar to an earthquake.

“Taylor Swift’s Scottish crowds were so enthusiastic at the weekend that her concerts shook the earth!” the British Geological Survey wrote in a post on X.

According to Deadline, the seismic event actually occurred all three nights of Swift’s Edinburgh appearances and peaked during the song …Ready For It?

The earth-shaking crowd was also shaking things up during her songs Cruel Summer and Champagne Problems.

Here is the BGS playlist of her most seismic hits:

That’s a whole lotta shakin’

The British Geological Survey said the Swifites were so active they could be felt up to 3.73 miles from Murrayfield Stadium.

Swift performed at the stadium in front of more than 200,000 fans during her Scotland tour stop.

According to the BGS, Swift’s fans dancing to the music hit a peak of 160 beats per minute as Swift sang, Ready For It?

All that shaking generated some 80 kilowatts of power, or what BGS said was about the power contained in 6,000 car batteries.

The BGS data also measured the maximum amplitude of motion, which measures how much the ground moves.

And Friday night’s Swifties recorded 23.4 nanometers worth of movement.

“It’s amazing that we’ve been able to measure the reaction of thousands of concert goers remotely through our data. The opportunity to explore a seismic activity created by a different kind of phenomenon has been a thrill,” BGS seismologist Callum Harrison said.

“Clearly Scotland’s reputation for providing some of the most enthusiastic audiences remains well intact!” he added.

This is not the first time a Swift concert has made the earth move.

Another study showed Swift and her fans created a seismic event during her August 2023 show at SoFi stadium in Inglewood, California.

And a July 2023 Swift show at Lumen Field in Seattle generated the “equivalent of a 2.3 magnitude earthquake.”

Surprisingly, Swift is not the earth-shaking concert champion.

According to the Guardian, that record is still held by Harry Styles, whose fans generated 14 nanometers, back in May 2023.

But Swift’s Friday show eclipsed both Beyoncé, whose concert generated 14 nanometers in May 2023, and Bruce Springsteen, who only managed 13.8 nanometers that same month.

But Swifties were still thrilled with what they saw and heard from the pop star.
