Senate RINOs are afraid of America First primary challenges

President-elect Donald Trump turned in the best performance for a Republican Presidential candidate since 1988 in the 2024 election. 

Voters sent him back to Washington, D.C. with a mandate to enact the America First agenda. 

The RINO establishment in the Senate began pushing back against some of Trump’s cabinet nominees.

Former Representative Matt Gaetz (R-FL) withdrew his nomination for Attorney General after having his character assassinated by the Washington, D.C. Swamp. 

That emboldened the establishment to oppose Secretary of Defense nominee Pete Hegseth, Director of National Intelligence nominee Tulsi Gabbard, Secretary of Health and Human Services nominee Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., and others. 

Senator Joni Ernst (RINO-IA) backed off her opposition to Hegseth after intense pressure from grassroots Trump supporters.

Tesla and SpaceX founder Elon Musk vowed to fund primary challengers against Congressional Republicans who opposed the America First agenda. 

Now, Senate RINOs are terrified that a wave of America First primary challengers could be coming in the 2026 Midterm elections. 

Senator Lisa Murkowski (RINO-AK) was defeated in a Republican Primary in 2010 but managed to win a write-in campaign. 

“It is stupid,” Murkowski said about Primary challenges. 

Senator Cynthia Lummis (RINO-WY) warned against trying to take out RINO incumbents. 

“It never works for us, and I say that as one who doesn’t think like her,” Lummis said about Murkowski. “We ought to be smart about who our adversaries are, and our adversaries don’t come from within.”

Conservative talk radio show host Steve Deace said that grassroots has Senate RINOs in their crosshairs. 

“The pressure valve is now pointed in the direction of the Senate,” Deace said. “The tea party was not nearly as organized as the Trump movement is.”

Senator Kevin Cramer (RINO-ND) warned the primaries were a fact of life for politicians. 

“Any member should be prepared to be primaried in every circumstance,” Cramer said. “It’s up to the member to cast the votes that their conscience and their constituents want them to cast. And if there’s a conflict between those two things, then they have to decide which is more important.”

Senator Bill Cassidy (RINO-LA) voted to impeach Trump over the January 6 hoax and has expressed his reservations about Kennedy and other nominees. 

He’s already drawn a primary challenge from Louisiana Treasurer John Fleming, a former member of the House Freedom Caucus, for 2026. 

“That’s life,” Cassidy said. “Part of being in politics.”

Fleming told the Washington Examiner that more primary challengers like him are going to “organically” appear. 

RINO Senators are going to be faced with a choice next year. 

Vote for the America First agenda, or face the wrath of America First voters in the next election.
