A lot of people these days take on gig work to make some extra money and frankly, to help make ends meet in many cases.

Companies like DoorDash, Lyft, Uber Eats, and others are seeing more people sign up to provide their services for cash.

And now one simple note to a customer sent this UberEats driver on the ride of a lifetime.

Driver gets an amazing reaction from a sweet note he gave to a customer

Paul Slobodzian is an Arizona delivery driver who has been working for Uber Eats for 18 months now.

His goal is to save up some extra cash to help pay for his upcoming wedding to his fiancée, Aly Perkins.

But recently, Slobodzian got the shock of a lifetime after he delivered a meal to a customer by the name of Erica Hernandez.

Hernandez was simply expecting her food to be delivered, but the meal also included a handwritten note that was attached to the bag.

According to Hernandez, the note read, “Something along the lines of ‘Thank you for your order. I am driving on the side to give my fiancée the wedding she deserves.’”

The customer was moved to donate to the delivery driver’s efforts, but she also decided to post his note on TikTok.

She said, “I just felt really inspired to post it and see if my friends would be willing to donate or any followers that I had on there to donate.”

Just two short hours after the post went viral, it caught Slobodzian’s attention.

Not only that, but the TikTok post also caught the attention of around 30 million other users, and now, the couple says that donations for their wedding keep pouring in.

Slobodzian said, “I never set out to leave those notes with the intention of somebody making a video about it or even trying to broadcast it to anybody besides the person I was delivering to.”

He and his fiancée spoke to Fox 10, with Perkins noting, “Your phone just started blowing up.”

“Yes, seriously, and honestly, it hasn’t stopped since Friday afternoon. It’s been thousands of messages and people supporting us,” said Slobodzian.

Strangers helping strangers

Slobodzian’s fiancée said they did not expect anything to come of the note.

“The fact that a stranger got our note and felt so compelled to post it on the internet and advocate for two strangers is unbelievable,” Perkins said.

In just one week, the soon-to-be-married couple raised enough money to hold their dream wedding.

They are now taking some time off from Uber Eats deliveries so they can be together before the big day.

Slobodzian got on TikTok to update users and told them they had raised more than enough money for the wedding.

The couple was in the final stretch of fundraising when the TikTok note “blew up” online.

The ecstatic pair also donated $1,000 of the money raised to Hernandez as a thank-you for her help.

They also invited her to the wedding, and she graciously accepted.
