Americans are tired of the spectacle of pro athletes getting all political.

That problem plagued the NFL with the national anthem protests.

And one NFL player’s arrest involved Donald Trump in this shocking way.

Ex-NFL punter arrested for anti-Trump protest

Former Minnesota Vikings punter Chris Kluwe decided to make a spectacle of himself and get arrested at a Huntington Beach, California, City Council meeting.

Kluwe showed up full of rage over a proposed plaque at the city library that contained the words “magical,” “alluring,” “galvanizing,” and “adventurous,” which spelled out MAGA.

The sign also included an inscription that made light of Barack Obama and Joe Biden’s signature sayings to declare President Trump was ushering in the golden age.

“Through hope and change our nation has built back better of Making America Great Again!” the sign also read.

Kluwe was upset that the all-Republican city council wouldn’t give in to his whining so he instead launched into a rant about how supposedly evil the MAGA movement was.

“It’s clear that this council doesn’t listen, so instead I’m gonna take my time to say what MAGA has stood for these past three weeks,” Kluwe began.

Kluwe then uncorked a procession of lies about MAGA wanting to ban books, enact censorship, and eradicate transgenders.

“MAGA stands for trying to erase trans people from existence. MAGA stands for resegregation and racism. MAGA stands for censorship and book bans,” Kluwe ranted.

Americans broadly support banning men from playing women’s sports and transgender surgeries for children.

The public also backs MAGA on preventing teachers from sexualizing children with woke lesson plans.

Having finished his procession of falsehoods, Kluwe then announced he would disrupt the meeting at which point police dragged him out in handcuffs.

“I will now engage in the time-honored American tradition of peaceful civil disobedience,” Kluwe exclaimed.

Chris Kluwe was the original woke athlete even though the word “woke” didn’t exist at the time.

Kluwe claimed in a 2014 CNN interview that the Vikings cut him following the 2012 season because publicly supported homosexual marriage.

“I don’t have anything against the Vikings organization itself. I had eight wonderful years with the Minnesota Vikings,” Kluwe claimed. “I had a problem with three individual people within the Vikings, and the fact remains is that I did everything my coaches wanted me to do (on the field). […] No one ever told me that I wasn’t doing what I was supposed to do.”

Kluwe also said his punting numbers never declined and the only reason he could come up with that the Vikings released him was him emerging as an outspoken left-wing activist.

“The only thing that changed from Year 8 to when I got cut is that I started speaking out on same-sex rights,” Kluwe continued.

The Vikings strongly disputed that assertion by Kluwe.

“Any notion that Chris was released from our football team due to his stance on marriage equality is entirely inaccurate and inconsistent with team policy. Chris was released strictly based on his football performance,” a team statement read.

In reality, Kluwe was a mediocre punter who ranked 17th out of 32 in punting during the 2012 season.

The Vikings then drafted a punter in the fifth round of the 2013 NFL Draft and Kluwe became expendable.
