Donald Trump appeared to be headed toward a major showdown with Mexico.

Their relationship changed in an instant.

And Mexico gave Donald Trump some stunning news after he issued this scary threat.

Mexico makes record fentanyl bust after Trump threatens tariffs

President-elect Donald Trump is ready to drive a hard bargain with Mexico if the country doesn’t cooperate with stopping the flow of illegal aliens and drugs across the southern border.

Trump let Mexico and Canada know that a new sheriff is coming to town in January.

He vowed to slap a 25% tariff on the two countries unless they worked to stop the flood of illegal aliens and drugs coming across the United States border.

“As everyone is aware, thousands of people are pouring through Mexico and Canada, bringing Crime and Drugs at levels never seen before,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “Right now a Caravan coming from Mexico, composed of thousands of people, seems to be unstoppable in its quest to come through our currently Open Border. “On January 20th, as one of my many first Executive Orders, I will sign all necessary documents to charge Mexico and Canada a 25% Tariff on ALL products coming into the United States, and its ridiculous Open Borders.”

Trump said the tariffs would remain in place until the flow of fentanyl and illegal aliens stopped.

Mexico got the message loud and clear.

The Mexican military made one of the largest drug busts in the country’s history after Trump threatened to impose tariffs.

Mexican troops seized weapons and more than 2,300 pounds of fentanyl in the Mexican state of Sinaloa.

The state is home to the Sinaloa Cartel, the most powerful drug cartel in Mexico.

“It is the largest seizure of fentanyl pills that has ever been made,” Mexican president Claudia Sheinbaum said.

The fentanyl was used to make 20 million pills for distribution that had an estimated street value of $400 million.

“These actions will continue until the violence decreases in the state of Sinaloa,” Mexican security official Omar Garcia Harfuch stated.

Mexico is taking action on drugs and migrants after Trump laid down the law

Fentanyl seizures in Mexico have fallen dramatically this year.

The timing of the bust wasn’t a coincidence according to security experts.

“It is clear that the Mexican government has been managing the timing of fentanyl seizures,” security analyst David Saucedo told the Associated Press. “But under the pressure by Donald Trump, it appears President Claudia Sheinbaum’s administration is willing to increase the capture of drug traffickers and drug seizures that Washington is demanding.”

Trump warned of potential migrant caravans forming in Mexico that would head to the southern border to take advantage of the final weeks of Joe Biden’s Presidency.

Mexico announced that it had detained over 5,200 illegal aliens in a single day.

Sheinbaum revealed she and Trump “discussed Mexico’s strategy on the migration phenomenon and I shared that caravans are not arriving at the northern border because they are being taken care of in Mexico.”

Donald Trump hasn’t taken office yet and he’s already delivering results.
