Mexican drug cartels are doing a happy dance over the leaving office present Joe Biden just gave them

There is no doubt that Joe Biden was the best friend of Mexican criminals during his failed term in office.

The disgraced Democrat put the needs of foreigners who traffic people and drugs over those of American citizens.

And now Mexican drug cartels are doing a happy dance over the leaving office present Joe Biden just gave them.

Prohibition has a long history of utter failure

A century ago, the temperance movement sought to shutter saloons and stop Americans from drinking alcohol.

This ill-advised crusade enjoyed considerable success, leading to the 18th Amendment.

How did that turn out?

Violent, organized crime ravaged major cities, and the law fell into disrespect and disregard as millions blatantly ignored Prohibition.

This led to the 21st Amendment, the only time in U.S. history that the nation repealed a prior constitutional amendment.

Lame-duck President Joe Biden was not around in the 1920s, but he is borrowing a page from the era with his latest outlandish move.

The administration is proceeding with plans to lower the nicotine content in cigarettes significantly, but critics warn that this is a dangerous move.

First, it will undoubtedly cause many to smoke more as they seek to get the same nicotine fix as they previously received.

This will not only negatively impact their health, but experts warn it will create a substantial black market for more powerful cigarettes.

And who will step in to fill this consumer niche?

Mexican drug cartels are poised to spring into action and smuggle millions of traditional strength cigarettes into the U.S. much in the same way illegal drugs and even people are slipped over the southern border.

Former Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) assistant director Rich Marianos told Fox News that this would be a disaster.

“Biden’s ban is a gift with a bow and balloons to organized crime cartels with it,” Marianos explained, “Whether it’s cartels, Chinese organized crime, or Russian mafia.”

This was not Biden’s first attempt to ban cigarettes. Just last year, the administration appeared poised to follow through on a Food and Drug Administration (FDA) proposal to remove menthol cigarettes from the market.

But something funny happened on the way to this modern prohibition.

Biden’s handlers whispered in his ear that menthol-flavored cigarettes are predominantly consumed by minority communities.

This could be seen as attacking his base during an election year, but the priority must remain to defeat Donald Trump.

The regime quickly backed off.

Now, on his way out of the door, Biden is considering an 11th-hour anti-cigarette action that many warn will lead to disastrous consequences.

Biden apparently never heard of the law of unintended consequences

Joe Biden intends to leave scorched Earth for President-elect Donald Trump to walk across when he enters the White House.

The Democrat President, rejected even by his own Party, is pulling out all stops to sabotage Washington, D.C., and somehow derail Trump’s mandate from the American people.

But Americans are not fooled.

These last-minute moves are nothing more than the death rattle of a failed administration.

And for Biden, they are merely a last gasp at relevance as he rides off into the sunset to be ridiculed and ultimately forgotten.
