Donald Trump faces hoax over call with Tim Walz
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz was best known for presiding over the destruction of Minneapolis in 2020 after George Floyd’s death before he became Vice President Kamala Harris’ running mate.
Black Lives Matter and Antifa rioters ransacked Minneapolis to the tune of $55 million.
Walz waited three days before he called in the National Guard while the city was being razed.
The Kamala campaign made a play to defuse any attacks on Walz for his handling of the riots.
A phone call between Trump and Walz in 2020 was posted on social media that purported to be of Trump praising the Minnesota Governor for his handling of the riots.
Walz’s camp leaked the phone call to the media.
The media presented that headline and hoped that no one would listen to the context of the phone call.
Megyn Kelly shuts down the latest hoax against Trump
Former Fox News’ Megyn Kelly slammed the Harris campaign for its “deceptive” editing of the phone call between Trump and Walz.
She said that phone call was Trump getting after the Minnesota Governor for not listening to his recommendation to deploy the National Guard against the rioters sooner.
“I fully believe with the way Walz handled it, he’s an excellent guy,” Trump said in the portion leaked.
Kelly explained the entire phone call showed Trump saying the Minneapolis riots were botched in the initial days before the National Guard was called up.
“You could hear him saying, ‘We’ve got all these men and women, we’ve got all the people you need, but people calling them up,” Kelly recalled. “You have to dominate … You have to use the National Guard.’”
“That’s the context in which he praised them,” he explained. “You sucked in the beginning. Then I [Trump] talked to you and told you what to do and you got better.”
Trump said that the governor was hesitant to call up the National Guard and the initial deployment of 200 troops “wasn’t successful.”
Walz thanked Trump for his “strategic guidance” and added that it was “very helpful.”
The full phone call didn’t match up with the hoax that the media pushed after they got a deceptive edit from the Harris-Walz campaign.
“Can you believe how deceptively that call has been edited?” Kelly exclaimed.
“The whole point of the call was Trump saying you were screwing it up then you talked to me and my defense secretary,” Kelly continued. “We told you to get the National Guard in there. By the way, you didn’t get all of them in enough numbers.”
Kelly slammed the media for running with the out-of-context phone call.
“And only when you did, did things get better for you,” Kelly added. “And he’s talking with the other governors saying, that’s what you have to do. It has to be…in huge numbers in order to get the results you want. And Kamala Harris has released that with just those little snippets of praise as if Trump endorsed Tim Walz’s approach to this.”
Releasing an edited version of the Trump-Walz phone call is a sign that the Harris campaign is worried about the lawlessness of the Black Lives Matter and Antifa riots coming back to bite them.
