President Donald Trump is more popular than he’s ever been starting his second term in the White House.
He handed former Vice President Kamala Harris the worst defeat for a Democrat candidate since former Massachusetts Governor Michael Dukakis in the 1988 Election.
The overlooked story at the start of Trump’s Presidency is that Democrats’ popularity has cratered.
Democrat pollster Mark Penn – who worked on Hillary Clinton’s 2008 campaign – revealed that the Democrat Party’s support from voters has “fallen off a cliff” during an appearance on Fox News Channel’s The Ingraham Angle.
Host Laura Ingraham asked him why the Democrat message isn’t resonating with voters.
Penn said he had done some polling that he hadn’t released publicly.
“Frankly, the Democratic Party is falling off a cliff,” Penn stated. “The ratings, which were in the high 40s, are gonna be like 35%.”
Trump was easily winning the head-to-head comparison with former President Joe Biden.
“I think the basic question, ‘Who’s doing a better job as president, Biden or Trump?’ Trump is winning that with 57%,” Penn explained. “I think you’re seeing a retrospective assessment of Biden and the direction the Democratic Party was going. It really [is] a lot more negative than it was on Election Day.”
Democrats are picking losing issues against Trump
One of the reasons Trump is more popular than ever is that voters overwhelmingly support key parts of his agenda.
A recent Harvard/Harris poll found that at least 69% of voters support banning biological men from competing in women’s sports, deporting illegal aliens who are criminals, cutting government waste, and securing the border.
Democrats have picked the most unpopular side of all those issues.
Penn noted that Democrats are on the wrong side of major issues and it’s costing them voters.
“They’re looking at the contrast on immigration, on economic policy, on some of the social policies. And boy, they’re reevaluating in the Democratic Party. I have never seen anything like this. This is a record low for the Democratic Party in terms of favorability. It has fallen really, really way down. And I don’t think there’s any leadership right now that’s going to be able to bring that back,” Penn explained.
The Harvard/Harris poll found that Democrats’ approval rating is at 32%.
Democrats and their media allies have tried to use SpaceX CEO Elon Musk and his work with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) as an angle of attack against Trump.
That put them on the side of defending wasteful government spending.
76% of voters in the poll supported a full-scale effort to eliminate waste and fraud from the federal budget.
Democrats have decided to die on the hill of defending some of the most unpopular issues with voters.
Picking the wrong side of popular issues has the party’s approval rating sinking like a brick.
