Democrats were convinced that lawfare was the winning ticket in the 2024 Election.

The party is facing a grim reality about the scheme it pulled.

And Laura Ingraham was stunned at this surprising outcome from Democrat lawfare.

Democrat Judge’s final disgraceful act against Donald Trump

President-elect Donald Trump’s legal team pushed to have sentencing postponed in the sham Manhattan criminal case against him.

Merchan issued a rare unconditional discharge in the case, which meant no punishment but it let Democrats and their media allies smear Trump as a “convicted felon.”

Trump’s legal team made an appeal to the Supreme Court to block sentencing but Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Amy Coney Barrett sided with the Democrat Justices in ruling not to intervene.

George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley said he wasn’t surprised by the Supreme Court ruling during an appearance on Fox News Channel’s The Ingraham Angle

“This is what some of us predicted when the appeals just began,” Turley explained. “Merchan really played this perfectly, and I say that not as a compliment. He knew that he was giving President-elect Trump very little runway by which to take an appeal off.”

Merchan bet the Supreme Court wouldn’t intervene in a case where a sentence hadn’t been handed down.

“He also knew that appellate courts generally prefer for sentences to be finalized to review the case as a whole, and he played those two cards to guarantee that he’ll be able to sentence President Trump tomorrow,” Turley added.

Lawfare led to an outcome that Democrats never predicted

Turley pointed out that the ultimate outcome of Soros-backed Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s witch hunt was that most of the country would view Trump as a victim of Democrat lawfare.

“He’s going to create the ultimate mandate for President Trump,” Turley said. “He will have established with finality the effect of lawfare on our political system. So President Trump will go in, as many on the Left want him to go in, as a convicted felon. But for many people in this country, he will also go in as someone who was the victim of lawfare.”

Democrats and their media allies relish being able to call Trump a “convicted felon” but that charge is going to ring hollow outside of their small circle.

Fox News host Laura Ingraham noted the Supreme Court had a narrow 5-4 ruling against halting sentencing in the case.

“The division on that court really does reflect how troubling the case is overall,” Turley stated. “That what this trial-level judge has done in Manhattan is to hold a Presidential candidate first, now a President-elect, to his courtroom on a short leash. This is the same judge that gagged the leading candidate for President in a campaign where his case was one of the issues of most concern with voters. And it obviously is an equal concern among at least four Justices.”

The ruling will almost certainly be overturned on appeal after Bragg and Merchan stitched together a Frankenstein’s monster of a case.
